** POTENTIALLY THE BEST GAMING MONITORS YET!! ** Acer 34" Ultra-wides

It's a black spot but it's not on the same plane as the actual image, it seems to be behind/in front of the actual image.

That sounds like a speck of dirt or some such like between the panel and AG layer or the front panel. How much does it bother you? Personally I would most likely send back for that. I can't stand any imperfections on any screens, let along brand new ****ing expensive ones.

Daft as it sounds, I'm honestly not sure how much it bothers me as I only received the monitor yesterday, it's definately noticeable tho.

Problem is rest of the screen is pretty good, not much blb or glow and a replacement could be a step backwards in that regards.

Really not sure what to do.

Try to forget about it and give it till Monday and see if it still bugs you. If it does RMA, otherwise you'll probably never worry.

I wouldn't worry about another bad replacement, you'll be covered for that too, it's just your time that's valuable.

Anthony.

Welcome to the truly awful world that is buying a new monitor these days.

Where the supposed excitement of a new and expensive toy is quickly trashed by having to choose which fault is the least offensive, and you somehow try to justify paying hundreds of pounds for a faulty substandard product made by *****s, who have no concept of quality control whatsoever.

The whole monitor scene is just a joke at the moment.

And it's not just fools like Acer. I tried an Eizo monitor last year, as Eizo are supposed to be one of THE best brands. Guess what, it was faulty. It went back.

Think about the journey it has been on since it was made in the factory.

Don't go looking for issues. Read the TFTCentral review for good starter settings, though mostly it's turn the brightness right down. Do some reading on game settings for your monitor type and play some games. Maybe later check for stuck pixels by opening a light background but really they will stand out if there. Frame skipping will only happen beyond the 75Hz on a Freesync version.
