**** The Official Google Nexus 6P Thread ****

That's right yeah, you can't draw more than it's specced for, but the lack of correct pulldown means it will try, and fail. In that instance the charger should shut down or just charge/not charge as it attempts to figure out wtf, but in the case of no intelligent chargers, this might not happen resulting in the charger damaging itself, and possibly damaging the phone too.

I thought that was the whole matter at hand with all this!

As Dangerous mentioned above, the same Google engineer who pointed out a lot of this in the other reviews, recommended the Belkin one as being within spec.

Perhaps why it also seems to be more expensive than others.

Bellin is expensive because of the brand. The monoprice ones are also within spec, and are cheap!

Wow, so much confusion over connecting a phone up to a usb plug. is it really this bloody difficult? Also, what happens when you connect it to a pc? Does it fry the usb port in that case?

Just use a compliant cable, Jobe done, or the one that came with the 6P. The same Google engineer noted possibly frying a PC USB port in a comment too, so it's not just high amp chargers that could fall victim.

Tbis is currently a problem because some makers of cables have not made those cables to within spec, so there's a chance they could cause damage.

It's worth mentioning that nobody out there has reported a busted cable, charger or phone yet and the 5x has been out a few weeks already.

Mine just arrived as I was leaving the house... Won't have much chance to play with it today but first impressions are it feels more usable in the hand than the note 3 and I really hope my case turns up soon as its rather slippery!
Hope everyone else's arrives soon !

Going to have to wait to play with mine need to go to the Three shop on Saturday and get a nano sim.

Suppose i can set a few things up like google account and maybe Facebook.

Me too. So that I can use it until I get a 4G/LTE sim, I'm going to just cut my 3G micro sim down to fit the nano slot. If I go to three, will they give me a 4G sim/data on the current plan I'm on for free? I pay £12;90 for AYCE 3G data, 200 mins and unlimited texts. Their site says 4G is at no extra costs, but then my £12.90 plan is also obsolete now.

Just learned this now, but I'm a little disappointed it's only USB2, not 3/3.1.

If it utilises USB2 properly, then your write speeds to it should be 20MB/s minimum. So not the end of the world, but still not quite USB3 write speeds.

Still, you'd expect USB3 on a device supporting Type-C 3.1, especially with 64GB+ of storage built in!

I'm not going to bother moving my music and media across just yet. Will use both it and the Z3 side by side. I have a feeling I know what the outcome will be though.

Can I used the A to C cable provided in a normal USB charger without any adverse consequences? Not bothered about quick charge.

Bit annoying about all the dodgy usb cables out there, its totally put me off buying any yet.
I need a type c car charger as well, be handy if it had a normal usb socket built in as well.

This, and just use any c to c cable.

It has confirmed 3A output on the Type-C port, but note that the 3A is shared, so if you also have something on the USB port, then it won't rapidly charge on the Type-C port, just standard rate.

An Amazon reviewer with the 6P said it worked nicely on his 6P too.

Yeah exactly. I won't have that much stuff to transfer, but a good 40GB+ of music. It may take a while ha.

This is my main question, I will want to plug it into the PC and transfer my music etc, Will probably have the quick charger at work or in my bag but at home It will sit on my desk plugged into my PC's USB3 socket. Going to have to do some reading up today.

This is the exact plan I'm on. I went into the 3 store last weekend, got a nano sim to replace my micro and she gave me an adaptor to use in my Onplus One (micro) while I wait for the new phone. Old sim deactivated within ten minutes, swapped it for the nano + adaptor and carry on as normal. Now will just drop the nano into the 6P and jobs a good un. :)

Oh, and "Loaded to vehicle for delivery" :D
