Paris attacks.

Oh dear Facebook is full of people changing their profile picture to overlaid french flags.

Whilst I appreciate the sentiment that'll be all they do in between watching x factor and emmerdale.

Agreed. I haven't done anything as there will be another atrocity soon I imagine sadly. It is the way the world has gone. I pay my respects privately so it is heartfelt.

We SHOULD help refugees as they are going through fear for their lives. But the EU has let us down with the mismanagement of border control and letting anybody enter Europe. Sadly it is innocent people who pay for their negligence.

i was wondering how long it would take for people to come out with the "it was France because they want to make money from war" just like they said with the Hebdo one, showing a video of no head explosion on the gun shot.

Doesn't take long for the tinfoil hat brigade to surface.
Way to go to dismiss critical thinking. Keep paying your BBC license, I'm sure you enjoy funding for your own brainwashing.

FYI, tinfoil hatters and truth seekers are completely different, maybe it's time you learn that.

Give us some evidence then.

So far, you have cited the use of a stock image, carry on......

Just about every Muslim nation or group out there has strongly denounced the attack.... but that doesn't play into your narrow minded narrative so you go ahead and ignore all the muslims saying it was an atrocity committed in Paris.

blame the BBC or sky news for not showing it. they will only show the "racist" remarks posted on facebook or twitter etc.

i found one video after searching google showing ONE muslim (not a community leader or anything just a more "famous" muslim) saying bad things about the atrocities commited.

you are more likely to see them say "well they killed our freind John so they need some sort of come upence, i dont blame them for attacking". ive seen these types of excuses after every attack.

Which is admirable, but why not the other victims of yesterday's terrorist attacks?

We mourn loved ones, friends etc. but we don't mourn babies starving in Africa. The French are in our 'tribe' so it's natural to feel more compassion when tragedy strikes them.

You're apparently not that different; you still jump to the same bizarre conclusions based on very little.

People here mourn because the attacks are closer to home, and people do not really know the atrocities committed against Muslims by the likes of AQ and ISIS.

And really, we should be mourning the loss of any life.

While we all know Muslims here are publicly condemning the attacks but behind closed doors some of them will be jumping for joy

This has to be the most truthful thing said in this entire thread.

RIP to all those that lost their lives.

Comes back to what I said earlier - as with many religions (Christianity is just as bad for it) certain things are taboo to even question which just plays into the hands of the unscrupulous while the more moderate ones will stay quiet to avoid being ostracised - nothing will change until there is a top down change from the leading figures to make Islam a more progressive movement and given how fractured it already is religion wise due to differences on how it should be practised, etc. (shia v sunni is just scraping the surface) that is incredibly unlikely to happen.

(This is also a very over simplified view of it).
