4K users feedback

It can be game dependant, MGSV for example runs beautifully at 2160p, while other game can be quite bad, particularly if they do not support multi GPU.

I only have 4gb cards though which probably doesn't help!

My computer handles 4K well most games, although I would need to SLI to stand a chance of 60fps in everything, as far as I am aware my CPU is not holding me back too much with one 980ti. Screen size is good, just enough for my desk size and very happy with it.

For people who dont mind 40-60fps games 4k is amazing. Especially games like SF Battlefront. 28" is good enough for me. Not everyone has the desk space for 32"+ monitors. I just wish there was a decent 28" 4k G-Sync monitor. Sadly there is not.

There are new 4k monitors on the horizon so I am hoping next year there will be a good 4k GSync one.

That's what I've been looking at too.
40" sounds great, I wouldn't touch a 28" 4k personally. Isn't the best thing about getting high res like 4k the fact that it allows you to get bigger screens without losing too much of the visuals? It is for me. I was looking a a 32" Samsung 1440 as well. But once we get the next gen high end 4k I should be ready for 4k.

Personally can't wait to go 4K. I would like a 32"+ 4K screen but do get some motion sickness with large PC screens during certain games. Not sure if I could handle a 40" screen unless I sat on other side of the room :p

Black Friday very soon, sure to be loads of bargains on 4K TV's / Monitors.. I'll be keeping an eye open for sure. I want to try it for myself.

28" 4K is too small IMO - while some games are jaw dropping at 4K I find 2560x1440@120Hz a far more comfortable experience - even with a 120Hz 4K panel I'd still only play racing games, flight sims, etc. where I'm sitting back a bit using a wheel/controller.

Overall I definitely wouldn't be swapping a ROG Swift for a 4K panel.

980 SLI should make most things playable though you might occasionally have to sacrifice 1-2 detail settings.

The Phillips is a great monitor especially with the current OCUK price of £515 ish (I paid almost £650 for mine a few months ago but its worth every penny).

Your right about 28" 4K its a waste of time way too small & pointless sidestep. 40" does not seem big enough after a while (its actually 39.5").

Single GTX 980 Ti is enough for most games @ 4K you may need to lose some AA but its passable right now although in future your going to need more GPU power (when its developed!).

The Phillips does not downscale 1080 console content very well though it looks a little blocky but PC games downscaled to 1080 or 1440 look better just produces a less sharp image.

As someone who has gamed on both the 40" Philips 4K monitor and a 32" Samsung 4K Freesync IPS I can say the Samsung wind hands down for gaming.

I would not recommend 4K gaming on a single GPU unless you have adaptive sync tech on there. 35FPS with Freesync feels smoother than 45-50FPS on non Freesync and no tearing either. :)
