Just had my water bill!

14 M^3 in the last six months.

Meter reader couldn't believe it when he came to take a reading a couple of weeks ago.

Now, I do dirty work. My WM is used every 2/3 days. I wash, I brush my teeth, I use the loo.

What is everybody else doing, that I am not doing, to use so much more water than (apparently) I do??

:?

It's not especially low that's about 75liters a day. National average is 150liters a day. But so many people have silly long showers, leaky taps, don't use the dual flush on toilets etc.

I'm not on a meter and I'm paying a fortune. Therefore my usage is likely to be very high as I'm making the most of it.

Well, I have a bath every other day. The bath is 1.8m x .8m filled to a depth of .5m, so that's 720litres every other day or 65,000 litres (or 65m3) just in baths every 6 months.

Plus all the water for the washing machine, dish washer, showers, cleaning the car etc so I use..............

Actually - I have no idea as I'm not on a water meter - winner!

so how much was ya bill and what period did it cover ?

We use around 30L per day.
some days far less, some days over 100L. Those days are when we use washing machine and dishwasher.

I shower every two days. And when we do its very fast 3 -5 mind on low power.

Same. That means showers followed by baths, frequent watering of my lawn and as much water drinking as possible :p

Erm,

Like I said, :p

The bill was for the last six months and charged for 14 M^3 at a cost of around £15.

(I am a bit ****ed off at the other £15 "standing charge" mind!  )
I will have a big moan about that later!

Total bill was £30, I am over £100 in credit but they are still charging me £1/month and not giving anything back. I suppose I really should get them to refund me something!

I had a letter through the other day from Oxfam saying they can supply whole villages in Africa with clean drinking water for just £5 a Month so I'm thinking of changing suppliers to them, Welsh Water charge way more than that for just for my place!
