Harrasment would be one line of enquiry:

Protection from Harassment Act 1997.

You watch, the police will waste God knows how much public money trying to track these people down, and when they do they'll receive a harsher sentence than that **** who raped the five year old.
 
Funny how the world these days you daren't discriminate against people, yet it's ok if theyre fat, thin, a smoker, a drinker, a gambler or a ginger.

We humans are such wonderful hypocrites at times.

Would it not be simpler if we just didn't give a damn about this sort of stuff when it doesnt affect our lives too much and just get on with how we see as the best way to conduct the process of living.

Sure it's a cowardly act. I agree. Rude and cowardly. I totally disagree with it.

However it's just an expression of an opinion, albeit it in a really stupid way.

The Internet is full of all sorts of people. Some good, some bad. And yes the protection of anonymity does give people more confidence to express how they feel. A lot of times that's for the bad, however sometimes it's for the good too.

All that aside, at it's root it's simply an expression of opinion. No one was physically bullied or harmed or forced to do something they have otherwise not done. Therefore calling for that person to be punished, arrested, or beaten, is completely ridiculous and people need to get a grip

As true and sad as that is, the internet didn't exactly invent bullying, it just made it easier (like it's made a lot of thungs easier) (edit: except spelling the word "things" :D ), sadly i fear the problem is not the bullies but the lack of sound grounding in reality for these poor folks to not realise the block button is there and it can be pressed.

You can't wave a magic wand and make the bullies of the schoolyard dissapear but you sure can do it to stop them following you into your home.
 
It shouldn't be a crime per se, but if you make fight talk, expect a well deserved punch in the face. Being nameless about it is just being a ****ing 'cat'.

That's quite a naive statement. You obviously have little to no experience on the topic at hand.

Shaming someone (especially if they are close to the person being shamed), usually results in the exact opposite of the desired effect. And not to mention it's a terribly cruel way of solving a problem

This wasn't an issue until it became the NHS costing money topic. Likewise before the recession. Hardly anyone cared people were getting benefits or squandering money.

We seem to have developed a culture where we all want to be pals. Due to social media. Personally I've never understood the bullying from online. Threats, yes but you can slowly work out where they're bluffing.

Sadly there will always be those that are easily manipulated for the worst outcome.

Let him who is without sin cast the first stone, that is my point. We live in a society full of opinions, many of them ill thought out, many of them from people who should look in a mirror first before they seek to throw stones at others. Perhaps this person hid themselves because they have 'the AIDS' and we all know that's a 'gayers disease'.....or they were a woman without a baby 'because they were unable to find a willing man, which can be the only reason' why a woman in her 30's doesn't have kids.....
