Hello all,

Out of interest, to those of you who own both consoles, which console do you by multiplats for and why?

I ask as I currently have a PS4 and have a scratch to jump ship. I then feel however that this will bring in a new dilemma of which console to buy multiplats for. Just currently weighing up the benefits of switching etc...

Thanks

i had both until a couple of weeks ago
but i always bought the multiplatform games on my xbox one for 2 reasons:
1) my xbox one is silent, i have had 2 PS4's (white and black) and they always seemed noisy, whether using digital or disc games

2) i prefer the weight of the xbox one controller and although you have to change the batteries, i find 2 cheap and nasty AA batteries would far outlast the PS4 dualshock battery life

i know for some the frames per second, 900 x 1080p etc are a factor but not for me, and my answers above were the reasons why i preferred my xbox one and made my decision to sell the PS4 a simple one.

Only way to do it is - Own both consoles and a half decent gaming PC then only buy exclusives for the consoles and everything else for PC.

There isn't a law that says you can't own both consoles btw ;)

I have a PS4 and Xbox One, I buy multiplatforms on the PC because they'll overall be the better versions. So I'd buy the PS4 version if I didn't have a PC due to the above.

I really didn't want this to turn into any form of console vs PC.

I specifically asked about XB1 and PS4. We all know the PC will out perform consoles.

I'd appreciate not bringing PC into this thread as it is compleatly irrelevant to the subject matter. Thanks

i now own the new model ps4 and i would say it's just as silent as my xb1. old ps4 before it however i wouldn't describe as noisy but a slight hum louder than the xb1 but not so loud you can actually hear it whilst gaming.

ds4 battery life is shocking but i get around that by just having it plugged in 24/7 to a usb lead. i know that will be an issue for many but before that i used to rotate 2 controllers. you could also charge it whenever it's not in use. so i don't really believe that to be a valid excuse tbh it's very easily avoided.

multi plats i will buy on the ps4 simply because it's more powerful therefore usually they run better on it and at a higher res or frame rate.

I buy multi platform games on the PS4.

Not to get into a console war, and you can argue that you can't tell the difference between 900p vs 1080p (probably can't), but I might as well eh?

Have both only played Halo 5 and Forza 6 on the XB1 this year and thats it, sometimes i use EA access to tr a game out and decide to buy/rent it on PS4. XB1 is my cant be bothered to find remote to switch TV on box, PS4 is my gaming machine (unless i get it on PC).

Question makes no sense, you say you want to jump ship but then say it will be a dilemma on which to buy multiplat's for.

Agreed, however as I said its currently a scratch, one thats actually proving to be annoying.

I want to switch to the XB1, but the 900p/1080p media PR of the XB1 is creating a niggle for me, even if it is negligible.

My (1week old) PS4 is being repaired/replaced at this present time and so still waiting to try out black ops 3 and battlefront on it.I wish I'd have bought them on my day one XB1 :(

There is also the question for Xbox/Microsoft cloud. There doesn't seem to be a lot of information out about it yet apart from Crackdown 3. Will a processing backend (Xbox Cloud) really make that much a difference and future proof the device. If so its a huge win for the XB1, but alas, MS still haven't given a huge amount of information about it yet.

Are you pulling our legs?

Im not, there is a huge amount of contradictory articles online, but please explain :)

I was under the impression it is more powerful for computations, therefore the PR of "20x more powerful" is deceiving.

PS4 for me.

- Media sharing aspects are better. 15 minute clips for instance, and its easier to trigger.

- The games do look and run better from all comparisons i've done.

The resolution debate isn't that much of a big deal, but I game on a monitor and sit fairly close so you do notice it then.

When hooked up to the TV in the living room, not so much.

Sometimes i'm tempted to buy games for the Xbox just to have something to play on it, but my lad uses it as a Minecraft box now so I don't bother.

Still have both but not sure for how much longer :) I'm using my Xbox way more than the ps4 both are good but the following are reasons why I'm spending more time on the one

Better controller
Elite controller
More friends on the one (was the other way round)
Games with gold
Ea access
Halo and other exclusives
New dash

I have both and have always bought multi's on the PS4 but have recently switched to Xbox for a couple of reasons,

1. External storage, ran out of space on my 1TB PS4 and don't want to have to upgrade the internal.

2. Game sharing, Sharing with my brother so games are cheaper.

3. Backwards compatibility.

4. Games with Gold is much better value now you are getting four games every month with BC 360 titles.
