PCB protection, what do you guys think?

it is a fantastic idea, having said that it isn't something I would pay extra for on a GPU (as my case is sideways mounted there is zero chance of my water leaking on to the back of a GPU)... motherboard on the other hand I would consider it

So they conformaly coat the PCB? Easy to do yourself on any PCB.
It costs next to nothing to do to a PCB except minimal time, graphics card would take about 1 hour from start to finish depending on the type of coating.

Great idea and so long as it isn't overly expensive, I would think about going for one. I also have a reverse case and normally watercool all my GPUs but with my Titan X, I just couldn't be bothered.

Will deffo keep an eye on this for the future though.

My mobo in sig has been insulated with Vaseline to protect it from moisture. Previous owner used it for LN2 benching.

We are just trying to give an added value to our product.
There are many other things that take no time for experienced people, otherwise it wouldn't make sense to sell factory overclocked cards.

Yes, learn to embed :p

Put that inbetween the Youtube tags

Fixed.
Cheers.

I don't know for sure but I don't think it's overly expensive to do, but like I mentioned before we are trying to give some added value to our product.

I've either been lucky or high end gear is already quite well protected, had water leaks on both a gpu and motherboard, nothing happened to either apart from needing a good wipe down.

That said if this pre applied protection provided warranty coverage in these circumstances I would see it very appealing.

As for doing it your self, good bye warranty.

It would be out of their kindness to warranty it, as i doubt the contacts are coated so a short could still happen unless they have used a gasket along the pcie interface to keep out water.

Also certain coating wouldn't void your warranty as they can be peeled off or cleaned off very easily.
As said in the description its an Aerospace application, well Boeing really and its regularly applied and removed.

Had I not put a full backplate on my 780 I would have lost it due to a leaking connection. So I think this is a good thing for them to add.

I wasn't having ago, just pointing out that for us willing to modify its an easy thing to do.

Be interested to see what spec stuff they are using. MIL spec or something else.

A lot of people on here are too weary to even take off the stock cooler, so i can see this being a popular choice for enthusiasts. I really like the idea of this and think it should be the industry standard for all mid to high end cards
