Nope. Front row, Caird Hall, Dundee, 1973. Best concert ever. Still a fan today and listen to his first five albums all the time. The music died for me today.

I'm a bit ashamed as a music lover that I haven't fully explored Bowie's work yet despite liking everything I've heard and being very aware of his influence. He's one of those ever present figures who you sadly take for granted. Artistically and creatively I think he's the most influential figure in modern music so his legacy will live forever.

I listened to Blackstar throughout the day on Friday and it's an album that will become forever associated with his passing. He sounded very aware of his mortality on the record but I didn't quite appreciate how aware.

I think many people will listen to Black Star with new ears after today. I'm pleased it has got fairly universal praise and he will have lasted long enough to know that.

Presumably he knew this record was where he would be bowing out forever. He seems to have turn that fact into something artistic while still keeping a level of the understated and sophistication about it.

After his previous album and how brilliant it was I immediately pre-ordered Blackstar when it was announced. I'm glad I did so I could listen to it on Friday. I'll certainly be listening to it and other albums of his tonight.

I did think this morning that at least he would have known that the initial response to Blackstar was very positive and that this hopefully gave him some happiness in his final hours.
