So vacuum is on the blink so having a look around for replacement. I usually buy into another brand such as Vax, Hoover etc but now wondering if I should invest in a Dyson.

Main reasons I haven't yet is I've always seen it as a vacuum is a vacuum, so anyone with experience of a dyson find it worth the cash? Or should I just stick to the middle market vacuums instead? (Cylinder vacuums only).

What a boring topic for a Monday..

Nah, get a Sebo. We used to have Dysons, but thought we'd try a Sebo for the next one. Never looked back.

We got the Sebo Felix Pet (black one) which is lightweight and comes with loads of attachments. The hand brush is great for the stairs, car etc too. Bags are pretty reasonable as well, and much neater than emptying out a Dyson.

Depends what type of Vacuum you need really - I still maintain that the little Henry hoover is by far one of the best, they just work!

I looked at Sebo and Meile when our Dyson died. Ended up going for a Meile Cylinder and it blows the Dyson away.

I own a Dyson and it's been fine. Can dismantle it when it blocks and it's pretty powerful. I also rate Henry hoovers cos they are just solid reliable and simple machines.

I have 2 Dysons. One traditional upright (cant remember its number) does the job and picks up a lot.

I also have the hand held V6 which is nice for doing small jobs and the car.

I would highly recommend them.

Cheers. Yeah I've seen the Sebo knocking around I will have a look into that too. Was originally looking at the Dyson Dc28 Cylinder.

We've got one of them cordless v6 things. Handy and lasts 20 mins so I do downstairs one day and upstairs the next.

Dyson customer service is good if a little slow. Our first one (Animal?) was fine except that the rollers on the heads didn't rotate. They sent a new motor when it was the tube at fault.
Eventually they sent an Absolute (I think). Either way, works great for a free upgrade :)

I have the dc50 animal and I can't imagine anything doing a better job. It's so good that I have to empty it more often due to it sucking up loads of the carpet pile.

Agreed. We've got a dyson upright, and it's just not very good compared to the henry in my opinion. I also don't like upright vacums either.

I bought my Dyson 12 years ago. Since then I've replaced two belts and freshened up the motor. Never needed anything better so will only replace it when it's beyond repair.

This. Had ours 14 years. Bags are like £3 for 10 and last us months. Never had one problem with it and I don't believe is any more bulky than an upright.

When ours eventually goes I will just buy another, no question.
