Bank card "special" moment

I dont know whats up with me today but i woke up this morning and the first thing that came into my head was that i cant remember what my bank card PIN is. I use my card daily and religiously type it in without thinking and today i just cant think what it is.

Its been bothering me all day and tonight I went to use it thinking muscle memory on the keypad will kick in but ended up staring at it blankly. Im 99% sure i know the 4 digits in it and which one is the first digit. I've tried 2 of the possible 6 combinations but stopped as i dont want the machine to eat my card.

Questions are:

How long do i have to wait so my 3 tries to get it right resets, i dont know because ive never had this randomness happen before.

Also have I gone nuts and have others had moments like this? Its really bothered me that I cant remember it.

Yes i know, cool starry bra and first world problems before anyone says it.
 
Putting in your PIN isn't like attempts at hacking terminals on Fallout where it resets if you go out and come back in again.

Once you hit 3, you hit 3. There is no reset time.

You can unlock it if you remember (at an ATM), but otherwise it's new PIN please, bank!
 
Nearly had that - did it so automatically for so long it no longer register in my mind the one time I had to stop and think about it - fortunately mine by complete chance has an association with something else significant to me which allowed me to figure it out.
 
I had this also a few years back - I entered the pin wrong 'by accident' which seemed to completely frazzle my brain. I could remember the 4 digits, but not the order. In the end, I tried picturing how I would enter the pin on the touch pad which worked after a few tries.
 
This happened to me one day although not with my pin number but my online banking ID number. I slept on it and all 9 digits were present again in my brain the next day :D

See if you can remember it tomorrow.
 
Gotta admit I have done this before and im only 25. Have also done it at work with my login password lol........Felt pretty retarded.
