First Gaming PC Build

Hi, I've never built a PC before but I'm planning on starting now. I'm wondering if there are any ideal setups for playing games like Metal Gear Solid V, Grand Theft Auto V, Rainbow Six: Siege, Star Wars Battlefront. I'd also want the computer to be able to play games released in the next few years ideally.

I'm not sure how to put what exactly I need. I need to get a case and literally everything that goes inside of it but I don't need a keyboard, OS, etc. Budget wise I'm not sure regarding how much everything would cost total, perhaps use a mid-price budget as a starting point.

The MSI GTX 960 Gaming was my first choice of graphics card but if anyone knows better ones or thinks this wouldn't be the best choice, let me know.

I've looked around at various setups and components but I know almost nothing about building a gaming PC and wanted to get opinions and help from people who know about it rather than just rush and buy things that aren't ideal. Any help's greatly appreciated.~

I have removed your link as it breaks forum rules.

if you state what parts you need, CASE/PSU/Drives/OS/Keyboard etc and a budget then someone will be able to come up with a list of parts sold here at OcUK.

I edited the original post earlier to contain the stuff I missed the first time around, wasn't sure if i should've done that or just made the new post.

My current resolution's 1080p. How do Nvidia graphics cards compare to AMD? I've got an AMD one at the moment and wasn't sure whether or not to switch brand.

Don't be asking questions like that, you will start a riot !!! haha. Not much difference with gpus, massive difference with cpus. I prefare Nvidia and in my experience I have had less hassle with Nvidia cards in the past. Get a 970 or above and you will be fine for 1080 and get good framerates.

Alternative

Would an MSI GTX 960 Gaming 4G be compatible with this setup if substituted in place of the other GPU? It's not that much more for the 2GB extra but I'm not sure if it would work.

From the little I've read, I think the 960 is better then the 380.

I just ordered myself a 960 4gb, along with 8gb DDR4 and an i5-6400.

Should be a nice little setup for £600 (in total, including other bits)!

Extras/Drivers

Thanks for all your help on this, I ordered the components yesterday and built it today but I'm wondering if anyone can point me to a PCI-E card and DVD drive since I forgot about those.

I'm also curious about the motherboard, I can download its drivers here but I don't know whether or not I need them all or just certain ones. Help still greatly appreciated.~

Edit: (I'm using Windows 10 64 Bit)

Are you not using an Ethernet cable? You don't want to game on wireless online, not sure why you would need a PCI E card for it? There will be an ethernet port at the back of your tower once built, the cable plugs from there into the router so you don't need a card. I think you might be getting confused because years back people had to use a card for dial up as ethernet wasn't on motherboards like it is now.

Erm, I've gamed wirelessly for years on my old PC and have had no issues :/

Maybe his PC, like mine, is in a place where you can't run a cable?

It will work fine but your connection will be worse than people on wired connections, although I have found on my new x99 board the wireless is a big improvement over the older sockets. I run a 15metre ethernet cable myself. Just think he is getting confused with the pci e card, will see when he replies.

I'd like to be able to run a cable but I've got the computer too far from the router to use a cable (computer is upstairs while the router is in my living room). The computer I had before this one had a wireless PCI card and I initially planned on reusing that but it's incompatible.
