First Gaming PC Build

I'll check those out then, any drawbacks to them?

Not that i noticed. As long as your house is on the same electrical circuit (which most are) you can hit the 500mbps speed consistently, as good as having a wired solution and no wire trailing up the stairs, across landings etc.

It would seem quite inconvenient having to route a cable all the way down to my router and even then, the path it would follow could end up exceeding 15m.

You wont get 500mbps send and receive though, the quoted speed is both ways so 250mbps one way and then you lose some speed due to overheads and electrical wiring inconsistencies. Cable will always be better.

Since I was last here, I bought the TP-Link adapter listed above and it works really well, while cable would likely give better performance, there's no noticeable difference with this.

Thanks for all the help with this as the computer's totally set up now with everything necessary.~

What is the best Homeplug to get Stu mate? You have got me interested now. There are many of different values, why is that?

Some of the more expensive ones have extra features such as built in wifi and passthrough, so you can plug another electrical item into the front of it.

I have used both Devolo and TP-Link and never had issues from either.
