Hi Guys i've had my chair for 5 years and its started to break at the bottom.
I am going to try and fix it but dont think i will be able to.
It was £200 from staples and has done me well.

I was looking at some nice looking chairs on OCUK
Some nice chairs around the £200 mark any advice on which one?
and are they good quality. or dose anyone know any better Chairs

Thanks

Hi Ironcross,

Ive got one of the Vertagear (SL5000) chairs from OCUK and I have to say it pretty comfortable to use. I went from a staples £200 basic office type chair to it and it took a while to get used to. I had a race design chair before but it didn't have the cushions and as I game a lot on my PC I was getting a pretty bad back. A few days of use on the vertagear and I have no back pain at all!

Its a fab little chair and its made me realise how important chairs are for PC use be it gaming or work or whatever else your doing. I like how I can adjust pretty much everything on the fly and its of a good quality build, its comfortable to sit on, hasn't worn at all in the 2 months ive had it and I probably park my arse in it for a minimum of 4 hours a day and probably anywhere from 12 to 20 on a weekend day.

My only issue im having with it at the moment is the height as ive got it pretty much rock bottom to what it can go and my desk is a little too short for me to enjoy a proper recline without the spring bringing me upright, thats not the chairs fault however.

Definitely invest in a race type chair if your a gamer or spend lots of time in the PC chair. I can't comment on the others listed but I had a cheaper race chair a few years ago and it too was impeccible. Just the general design is what your after I think, they all seem to be designed around comfort and long use. Its what they use at the e-sports stuff so its bound to be good :p

I have had a total of 3 chairs from staples over the years and will not be getting another, they always end up compressed and uncomfortable. One of the Vertagear’s would be my choice next time

Yeah i do like the racing type on OCUK.
My old one has come away at the bottom and now the seats unstable rocks.
I am 6.4foot and 16 stone so would want a strong chair. Was not sure if they look a little weak?

I have an AK Racing Premium V2 (though I must confess I didn't buy it from OCUK).

I'm "only" 14.5 stone (pure muscle of course) but it's a very solid chair and I find it very supportive and comfortable... I have some sciatic issues and I find the lumbar cushion brilliant. If you like that style of seat you could do a lot worse I think.

I went with the black one with white writing here https://www.overclockers.co.uk/ak-racing-premium-v2-gaming-chair-black-and-black-gc-002-kr.html

Haha, I was looking at that one also looks very nice. i do like the look of the racing chairs

But the Steelcase Leap new are crazy priced

I've been looking for a new chair too, due to working from home a lot more my 'office' is seeing me here a lot more. I suffer from back ache, but that Vertagear SL5000 looks absolutely perfect for what I need.

I think I might have to invest in one too...

Been lloking at more highend chairs
"Humanscale Freedom Task Chair With Headrest" "Steelcase Leap"
Looks to be a good chair's there are some high end ones on Ebay 2ed hand.
Are quite pricey new.

I paid the extra for the sliding seat and the chrome base. I purchased it from 2ND-HND on ebay. The first one they sent has a broken arm button so it wouldn't adjust up and down. They sent a replacement out right away and collected the broken one a week later.

Minus the arm issue on the first one the general condition on both of them was good.

Thanks ive been looking at the 2handed shop i was unsure weather it would be worth the risk of buying a pre-owned chair.
But they look good and if the condition was good then I think im going to go for one. As ive read loads of good reviews about these chairs

the hinge that connects the seat to the back rest on the right hand side just sprung off after a week. the back rest flew backwards and all the leather down the side ripped.

I'm now faced with the problem of somehow getting it back to OcUK. They wont accept it unless its packed into a box, and I chucked the box after assembly.

It was an ok chair when it worked, but I'm massively sceptical of Vertagear now.

Interesting, I wonder if it is a common issue on these..

Also, the machining tolerances were very tight. It was literally plus or minus half a millimetre on assembly.

I aint seen anyone else complain about vertagear. I think it was a one off duffer.

I'll research it a little bit, was thinking of a b-grade on for the £50 saving, but worrying if they won't last so long...
