According to Steve Burke at GamersNexus, AMD are set to partner IO interactive for the upcoming Hitman. The game boasts breathtaking visuals and effects and apparently will be using TressFX… (Ok, terrible joke). It is also said to use Async Compute with DX12 and for those in the know, depending on the amount used, this could see a heavy swing in AMDs favour but time will tell on that. It will still be DX11 compatible, so don’t worry if you don’t have a DX12 ready GPU.

Good to see AMD partnering IO Interactive with the latest Hitman game and with a Feb Beta date and March release date, could this be the first "full" DX12 game? I quite enjoy Absolution and will be looking forward to this.

This is very good news, much needed for AMD. Let's hope the rumours are true and Tomb Raider gets DX12 as well, then I'll be very happy.

Nice Although I got bored of Absolutions so here hoping this one better.

Am sure self advertising is against forum rules greg just an heads up.

Hmmm, I thought it was if I was making money, which I don't and I am not advertising competition but if the mods say i can't I won't :)

You might be right mate I just remember a hardware review site on here couple months back getting a warning.

Nice site though :D

Yer, I read the rules again and it does look like self promotion is free advertising and frowned upon. Oh well, I guess I was advertising, so thanks for the heads up and thanks for the compliment. Took me long enough lol :D

Anyways, Will this be the first proper DX12 game other than AoTS?

I won't be cheering about this, i'd really rather they used Vulkan and I think the industry would benefit from such a thing in the long run.

Well I will deffo be getting it and comparing DX12 to DX11. Not sure what to expect really but hoping to see some frame improvements this time unlike AoTS which had more frames on DX11 than DX12 for NVidia users for some odd reason.

Just want to state that a lot of sites are reporting that it's dx11 not dx12 after latest interviews. Is there some miss information floating around on this?

Rumours floating around that nVidia are delaying DX12 adoption due to weak performance (compared to AMD's cards) of their Maxwell line. Maybe this is another example of it...

i think if the game is made for DX11 as a base, then it wont really take advantage of DX12 features, and the gains will be minimals, it's like doing multiplatform title, the game is coded for console capabilities, like wise here you wont have huge draw calls, and heavy workload on async, i still believe for a game to be truly NEW API title, it need to be exclusive to that API, or maybe later ported to DX11, but since they do both...meh gonna be crap

first real dx12 engine with a game might be BF5.
Before that I wont expect anything special.
one have to remember that Nvidia cant do Dx12 so good with async so there goes innovation and development down the drain thanks to old tech.
