Non chav European beach holiday destinations

Croatia is a good shout, although if I could go anywhere I'd probably choose the cote d'azur. Places like St Tropez and Cannes obviously get really busy during the summer, but Hyeres/St Mandrier etc are a lot quieter. You can also get a boat out to the island of Porquerolles which has the best beaches I've ever experienced.

Croatia or Ibiza. The north side of the latter is as good as beaches get in this part of the world - I won't be going anywhere else for beach holidays.

I wonder if the Danish coast has any good beaches. It seems to with about 22degC in Jul peak..

I know Italy is beautiful, north around Vienna is one area I'd like to see. I've been to Valencia etc and Rome too. Plus the Italians are very family orientated with great food.

Another destination on my bucket list is Split.

I would say the south of france too - but then the Mrs is french :D If you can speak a little bit of the lingo then you're less likely to get the cold shoulder - especially if you're not seen as being the stereotypical "Ros Beuf" family.

Menorca

- Beachfront development was banned in mid-70s so 95% of beaches are unspoilt with no hotels. This also means you mostly need a hire car, again cutting down on the riff raff who just want to move from the bar to the sun lounger for 2 weeks
- Massive selection of family-friendly beaches but you do need to take picnic to the ones outside towns due to lack of allowed development
- Good selection of boutique hotels on the island including a new one in Ciutadella
- Great food
- Not enough nightclubs and almost no British food outlets for the chav crowd

In short, as long as you avoid Los Delfines/Cala En Porter which are purpose built tourist areas Menorca is probably the nicest island in the Balearics.

Where was last night's episode of The Night Manager filmed? That looked quite nice. I think it claimed they were in Mallorca though, so may have to charter your own aircraft to avoid the semi-morons.

Skiathos, Greece.
Skiathos is great but it's pretty touristy with plenty of Brits around. I remember being slightly dissapointed how touristy it was actually, although it is a very charming place.

Amalfi Coast is basically Blackpool but with hotter women and hilariously bad driving, like all of Italy.
Admittedly I've never been to Blackpool but err.. really? The Amalfi coast is utterly beautiful

OP; Going to Spain is your first mistake. It's either full of beer-swilling Brits-abroad or worse, chain-smoking Spanish people :p

Have you tried Montenegro? I've heard the Royals recommend it.

Israel does not exist, it is actually Palestine

1948 called, it wants a word with you.

North Cyprus, about as non chavy as it gets. Were going to Crete this year for a change though.

Expensive to get to though I believe?

Pretty much need a car, unless you want to stick around Girne too. I'd imagine.

Though it is rather beautiful, and pretty much chav free with a fair bit of culture.

Its cheaper than Amalfi coast, we last paid about £700 each for 14 nights. No add on extra costs like Amalfi either.
Never needed a car, loads of buses to get everywhere and taxis that will always pick you up at set times and not want paying until your dropped back off at the hotel.
Cheap to eat and drink as well. My all time fave place.
