I think what you did was good. As a teenager it is perfectly normal to watch porn but he shouldnt be using grandparents computer for this purpose and definitely not go on sites where you can get viruses.
Just explaining this to him is fine in my opinion.

Also, some porn is just weird and if I had a son (or daughter, women watch porn too) I would make sure that there was only access to the more normal stuff websites...
