Hi,

Recently changed the front calipers and pads on my Fiesta ST however since fitting them they feel how I can only describe as 'lumpy'. There's no juddering through the wheel or anything like that but there's a very faint judder through the car. Almost as if I'm quickly changing the pressure I apply to be brake pedal (I'm not).

Any thoughts on what this could be? I'm tempted to say warped disc however these discs were fine on the old calipers and pads...

how many miles ago did you change it?

the lumpy feeling could be because of the new pads
but the judder could be the discs, maybe didn't happen with the old pads because they had the same groves, so if your discs are not bad you could get them skimmed to leave a flat surface, or depending on the price just get new ones.

Just a note: don't skim your discs more than once, you will need them replaced next time you change pads.

Less than 50miles ago, I can change the front discs for £60/pair so much try that first of all?

so probably the lumpy feeling is because they have only 50 miles.
at some point the pads will settle down on the discs groves and probably will stop juddering, I would replace the discs only if the grooves are too bad or if it is too thin

You can actually feel how bad are the grooves with your fingertips

usually takes around 300 miles for the pads to settle down, ofc if you drive on a motorway without braking will take more than that :p
