Yeah... I noticed that... brand new set of 4 decent tyres for that can be had for under £500 though and still well under budget.

Don't know how it compares, but it seems to tick all the boxes?
edit: hopefully fixed link...
Nexen tyres are excellent in my experience actually. They are OE on Fiat some VW Group cars and Renault amongst others.
Brand snob?

Slightly over but ticks most of the boxes.

It's a near enough 2 tonne 300hp saloon, hardly comparable to the cars those tyres are usually fitted to.
Nexen tyres weren't OE spec out of the factory for that vehicle. Not saying they're bad but I would prefer performance tyres on a car like that.

This is pretty much bang on the money. I've also been looking at the 1 series M135 but I'm not sure I want another hatchback. I've had a Vauxhall Astra 1.6 SXI 06 plate for 7 years.
I also like the C class but to get anything over 200BHP in petrol you've gotta go down the 3.0-3.5 litre route and tax will be horrendous. The A250 is nice though but again it's a hatchback.
I say go for it. Jump balls-deep into the decision and go do it.
