****The Official Captain America: Civil War Thread ****

It sounded a bit like Garfield, is he continuing as Spider Man?

Agree costume eye movement looked ****, nice to see him in it though!

It's Tom Holland ain't it?

Pretty much confirmed when he tweeted some comic book film critic earlier.

Also the eyes move, because I believe Tony has made the suit or at least the mask. With some sort of eye shutter thing being the main component?

Why on earth do trailers need to give away the whole movie. Feels almost pointless watching it now.

Yup, makes no sense as you can pretty much piece together the movie by watching the trailers and generally very little will surprise you. I remember the original trailer for the 1984 ghostbusters totally omitted Stay Puft and it was a big surprise for the end of the movie, how a trailer should be done. Seems these days trailers just go all out to make people blow their load regardless of how much they give away. Terminator Genisys biggest surprise anyone?

High-res image of Spidey's suit, looks considerably better than the grabs from Youtube.

Are there more heroes in this than the last Avengers film cos it sure looks like it?

What does that leave for the next Avengers, a film where a hero only gets 2 minutes of screen time each, just to fit them all in?

This better live up to its potential awesomeness. Agree though it seems like its all given away, except the inevitable bad guy that makes them all kiss and make up by the end.

Considering the next film likely to be around using of these characters besides Black Panther's solo film is Infinity War I what makes you think there will be a greater big bad or any kissing and making up?

It most likely ends with everyone still split so we can have the big Avengers assemble scene during Infinity war.

I'd really like to see them kill off a couple of characters in this. But Properly kill them off, not just pretend to and them bring them back by the end of the movie.

One thing that is really lacking in the MCU is any sense of danger for the characters. Kill one or two characters (my money would be on Iron Man - how many films does RDJ have left in his contract?) and it makes the Infinity War films more exciting as there is a chance that not all the characters will survive if Marvel are willing to kill off someone in an lead-up film to it.

And ruin extra income further down the line? Doubtful.

Though they could just re-boot. I doubt they'd kill off such a big money maker as Iron Man though.

But is it Iron Man that is the big draw or RDJ?

If it is Iron Man, then they could easily do what they do in the comics and bring another character to take on the Iron Man suit.
If it is RDJ, then rebooting won't help, unless they reboot with RDJ, but then what is the point.

That's why I mentioned RDJs contract. If he's done all his appearances as Iron Man there's no guarantee he'd be back any way, and Civil War will be his seventh. Plus there's no Iron Man listed on the MCU phase 3 films

True, I hadn't thought of that. I was just assuming it would follow standard any superhero movie formula.

It's the Marvel universe, if anyone does end up getting 'killed' they will ineveitably turn up later shouting 'Surprise, it was all an elaborate ruse!'

Nobody ever stays dead in that universe.
Except uncle Ben, that guy is hella dead for real.

Is this Chris Evans' (Captain America) final film? I remember him not wanting to be tied down to Marvel for too long, and I think his contract is up after this or the next film.

I think he's done great as cap. It's a bit like Hugh Jackman and Wolverine - it's become "his" role.

If they stick close to the Civil War comics then Steve Rogers is killed off by the end.

If Chris Evans did want to leave they could have Bucky Barnes take over the Captain America role.
