I agree, but it is still on the big side!

I remember Rats that you could hold in your hand (They made really good pets too)

Standard issue ones these days are more Cat sized!

Either the bloke is lying through his teeth or it really was 25Lbs.

The standard hold it at arms length, right on front of a wide angle lens pose that ALL anglers are familiar with.
 
For something that supposedly weighs 11k, not only is his arm half extended, it's extended by the litter picker as well.
He must be pretty muscley, or you know a marginally big rat and perspective.
 
That's not as big as he's trying to make out. Have seen a few rats of that size down where the old Victoria Ground used to stand. Once saw a particularly brave cat having a bit of a tussle with one not much smaller than that. My own cat used to bring back dead/half-dead rats the size of a small rabbit quite frequently.
 
Walked into my kitchen years ago and opened a drawer, saw the biigest dead brown rat I could imagine, the tail was longer than the body, size of a small/med cat. Heart attack. Rat must have jumped into drawer during day and kept calm, I must have gone in and closed the drawer etc.
