Hi guys I'm fuming some scum bag has done this after so long. There's no way I can set up as resolution on eBay as its been so long and nothing on pay pal. What can I do about this as the seller is being as ass and saying basically been over 14 days bla bla bla bad luck. Not sure what to do? Can I report it to police or eBay ? I would be happy to report to a insurance fraud company too.

It was a business seller with 143 feedback all positive and he sells phones and laptops. It had a broken screen which I repaired and been fine for 5 months ish until Saturday when I had no service all day to ran a check mend which shows it as stolen or lost

Yes, also conveniently passed the paypal dispute time also.

Seller is good at this.

you have his address but he has your address, learn from this and move on. Sell it to someone overseas and end of.

If there's absolutely nothing you can do in terms of a dispute or getting your money back, then surely a jailbreak could fix (un(b)lock) this? Or do the networks block the actual IMEI from the network?

Did you pay by visa?
If not in future for high value stuff from ebay pay on visa cc. Well actually good idea for any thing expensive.
You have a 120day window to do a chargeback, this however generally starts from the date you notice an issue.
Wont save you al, the time but it's a good extra layer of protection.

I would have thought if the person is selling stolen goods then you have recourse via the authorities. I appreciate you won't get your money back immediately but it will stop the business from trading

Is it a LTD company?

Report him to the police for selling stolen goods.

If he reported it as stolen then you have proof it was bought in good faith and he's committing some kind of fraud.

Hi,

Sorry to hear you have problems with the phone. Firstly I can assure you that the phone is not stolen and would not have worked all the way through September if it was? We have sold several of these phones to other buyers who have had no issues what so ever. We run a blacklist check on the phones before they are sold and we did not find any indications of theft. The returns policy on the listing states up to 14 days and as you are aware it is well past 14 days

Kind regards.

As a fellow eBay business seller I would expect a better response than to state its been longer than 14 days bad luck crap. I ve got the check mend results which I can email to you as proof this has now been black listed as either stolen or lost. this is not acceptable to be ripped off like this after 6 months , I bought and fitted a new screen to this and bought a case for it costing a total of £60 as far as I m concerned I m £185 out of pocket. You must know who sold this phone to you. I ll be in touch with eBay CS today when I get time

Hi,

You haven't referred to this item because we cannot see the listing details in this question. How do we know that we sold you this phone? This could be another phone you purchase. I don't know what you want us to say about this issue. I think that you are talking about the wrong phone. 6 months is a long time and this item is now off our records. If you want to contact eBay or the police then by all means do so as this phone is no longer referred to us.

Regards.

Don't take the ****. I've sent you the item number on Saturday in my first message to you. You can also look back to September and see the listing you sold me and my feedback which I will be following up. Don't worry I will be sending this all to the fraud team I'm in talks with. You ask me what should you do? Well I've sold quite a few phones and always log imei and the persons details I originally bought it from, i would be in contact with the original seller right now. You're not being very helpful!

DO NOT SWEAR AT ME YOU ABUSIVE PERSON. I think there's only 1 person taking the .... And it's not me!! 6 months on and let me guess you want a full refund!!!! the phone that I sold you was my sons phone and totally legitimate. Do not contact me again

You re a disgrace to other businesses sellers. Don t worry won t waste more time with you as you re clearly not at all helpful. I ll be in touch with whatever authorities can help with this matter. I ve got the listing, package u sent and imei details I need to proceed with.

Email ebay and paypal... also report it to the police.

With the police report, ebay and/or paypal will likely force the refund, even if it is past their 6 month limit.

If not, the police report and follow-up will likely force the seller into refunding you.

Contact police, county court etc.

You can change the IMEI to unblock it, it's illegal but there's no sense in creating another victim of a crime by blocking stolen phones.
