Slowly climbing up the gear ladder!

Anyone for some high level DZ gear farm? :)

Damn, this is good :) Only just started but having a blast. Took a few tries to finish the first group mission too, which was nice. Flanking and tactics actually work.

Bugs though :( getting a black screen every so often and having to quit out from the desktop

Loving this game so far. I've just hit level 16 after 32 hours, by following the PVE missions and doing loads of exploring. The game is amazingly atmospheric. Hoping to do some pvp / DZ stuff later on.
One question. Am I correct in saying that the only way to get the very best gear is by entering the DZ? Or, can equally decent gear be obtained by completing hard difficulty PVE missions at level 30?

I could be wrong but the best gear seems to come from blueprints which you can buy in the post office or DZ(at DZ rank 50).

Not sure if either one is better than the other though. Had a quick look last night and they seem pretty similar.

So the purpose of the Dark Zone is to simply extract better weapons etc?
There are no missions etc right?

I've gone in several times, and dam those guys are extremely tough to take down. I hope as I unlock weapons it becomes easier (literally unload round after round in the head with not much damage....even when using the shotgun!).

When the Chopper extracts your stuff, where do I go to construct/decontaminate and arm myself?

Edit:

Whoops I was reading a page behind :) Press g single time and it then left click where you want it to go. Hold g and you get a selection wheel thing to choose a grenade type.

From what I remember, you just collect it from your stash in any of the safehouses or base of operations.

Got to level 50 in the dark zone last night then decided to try going rogue. Managed to stay alive for a short time then died twice in a row. The penalties are pretty insane but I guess it's a good thing really.

107k exp points down and 136k credits lost in two deaths! Ouch that'll teach me :)

I'm level 9 and have a lot more blues in use and over 3K DPS with an assault rifle. Though use the classic semi-auto rifle mostly as it's awesome.

ha well ive only done the one blues mission and after the police rifle the ak has been good to me, i dont full auto fire unless they close or im shooting without aim.

i tend to use my pistol more, that magnum is awful i must say, good damage, but too much recoil.

i didnt even really know about colours until i got the blue.

That's brutal.

A random scared the crap out of me in the underground thought it was a shotgun rusher so started firing. Thankfully I stopped just before rogue then my mate hears the firing turns round thinking the same as me and one shot the guy putting us both into rogue lol :(. Lost 67k XP.

Just out of curiosity, can anyone think of another game that is like this? I know you have your MMOs but this is the first shooter I have personally seen.

I think the reviews are so split as aside from the engine and visuals which are superb its just a pretty generic cover based shooter.

That being said im having lots of fun with it, but i will be interested to see how i feel after a few weeks. Its still early days and just started in the dark zone.

I do think a lot of the bad reviews are to bait in the games defenders, get some more traffic to their sites/channels etc

I think it's a good game with potential to be a great game. I have had a lot of time on my hands recently and I have sunk 60 hours into this game which compared to other types of entertainment has cost me peanuts. If I get bored of this game in the next few days I can say that I have had a lot of fun teaming up with some people from these forums. What more can you ask?

If you want to add me me my Ubisoft name is Prattler and my level is 29.

Lvl44 DZ now. My stats might look a bit low compared to some at rank 30 but I have been concentrating on the item talents, I have about:

+130% Scavenging
+50% damage dealt to elites
-25% protection against elites
+5 enemy armor damage

nope....they scale up with your rank! you gotta pick your battles if you're soloing the DZ. tag along behind a premade group and help them pick a few AI's off and you could get lucky and get wep drops without the aggro of trying to fight a 6 man group of super human AI on your own!

And you're upset they gave it a 6.7?

No not at all, i just think the reasons that he gave the game a 6.7 don't make any sense and don't justify the score.

Like saying the world feels empty or static, well it's supposed to, it's a post apocalyptic world and it shouldn't be filled with NPC's everywhere.

If it was filled with NPC's scattered everywhere i think it would break immersion immediately.

I hope that he was aware that the game is set to be in a post apocalyptic world.

If a wide spread smallpox outbreak actually happened that's what it would most likely look like, a few people trying to survive by scavenging for food and water.

Not the streets filled with people in every corner and every ally way.

So what he wants is to play a game that's in a post apocalyptic setting but with people everywhere running about, riiiiiiiiight!

Sounds to me he didn't really follow the story as you understand within the first hour of playing the game that it's been weeks since the outbreak.
