Two explosions at Brussels airport

rip to those dead.

looks like the isis problem is not going away any time soon.
i don't know how it will end but its going to be bloody on both sides :(

The case can be made that the reason is because a lot of them came over here all through last year hidden amongst the masses of migrants and headed for the slums that already existed in various EU countries.

There will be more of this and there is nothing the various EU leaders can do about it, it is a total farce going off everything that has happened in the past 12 months and it is getting worse not better, security services my arse, they have not got a clue what they are doing or what the terrorists are upto, just look at the debacle of where they eventually found the **** from the Paris attacks, hiding in front of all the authorities!

Just now going off the news reports saying extra this and extra that has been deployed, border is closed blah blah, horse and bolt springs to mind.

The fear of being branded racist has been one of the problems also, the EU including us are scared to come out and confront this head on for the fear of the backlash they get from the PC brigade, extreme measures need taking, for instance areas like Molenbeek and other towns\cities that are rife with extremists around the EU should be on some kind of lock down and every area\property searched, regardless of who live's there or protests or at what cost, it is the only way to flush them out and expose them and their sympathisers, does anyone else have any other idea of exposing the extremists?

I would like to hear it if so.

The issue with this is that its a small percentage, the majority of them just want to live their life's without fear and a future for themselves and their children, its so easy to paint them with the same brush, but its the wrong way to go because they not, and if we do things will get worse not better.

A small but /significant/ number.

A small and insignificant number is a weird suicide cult in Texas.

ISIS are said to have tens of thousands of fighters. And they very much think they are "true" muslims. In fact they are doing all this because and in the name of islam.

So why do people think we should all ignore the islam aspect of this? "Oh it's nothing to do with being muslim." FFS. It's everything to do with being muslim. That's what's motivating them!

Vote IN for a safer Europe they said, doing a good job so far.

How many terrorist attacks happen outside EU and how many happen inside?

Being in or out makes zero difference, especially for UK which isn't in schengen.

Anyway back on topic. RIP to victims

More sad events, RIP to all those poor souls lost, and a speedy recovery to those injured.

If these attacks are indeed perpetrated by ISIS, what is the end goal here? Bin Laden wanted the western world out of Saudi Arabia and an end to our influence on their culture. What is the ISIS goal? The right to their own state to be left alone by the west?

Oh Really? Tell that to the countless civilians killed as a result of the Omagh bombing that deliberately targeted them

Exactly, terror is terror, you can dress it how you like or hide behind a cause but it is all cowardice. In Omagh there is some evidence that the civilians may have been intentionally funneled towards the bomb.

 what a stupid ignorant comment to make. So only countries with historic, cultural and political ties to us and the west matter when attacks take place?? Lol just lol. Not really surprised with your comment though.

Evangelion I'm sorry but I'm on Facebook and I never saw any sort of trending for Ankara and Turkey attacks.

he is correct though, people die all the time - I mean you presumably follow that flooding in the UK will generate more headlines than flooding in some place in say Africa? Like wise other events that occur closer to home or in countries similar to our own are going to generate more headlines. Turkey has been fighting a war with the Kurds for years - parts of the country are essentially war zones, if something happens there it isn't a big news story compares with an attack occurring in a Western country right next door to us.

unless it affects say the UK border in France being moved back to the UK or perhaps triggers more events leading to the breakup of the EU then it isn't likely to mean much one way or the other

the police sharing of information seems to aid the EU police forces more than us in countries where their intelligence services don't cooperated with the police much. Intelligence sharing itself is subject to agreements outside of the EU so unaffected.

I wouldn't really expect a change in security or police intelligence with a Brexit, more the fact that ISIS want to influence the west as much as possible, cause as much disruption, build walls instead of bridges, incite hatred. ISIS want dumb western xenophobic fools to tarnish all Muslims as terrorists/ "religion of peace" rubbish. ISIS wants these idiots to harp on about Syrian refugees, incite attacks against Muslims etc.

Sadly as this thread shows, ISIS are wining quite handily in their goals.

Nobody cares about turkey because it's entirely their fault, maybe if they weren't massacring kurds... Gee

considering the support turkey gives and has given to isis over the years its a case of chickens coming home to roost.

the fact that the west has turned a blind eye to this from a NATO member is a disgrace.

Not condoning, any civilian/armed forces/Police/politician death was a tragic waste of life and in no way would i support that.

I was merely pointing out that the IRA took a degree of 'pre-caution' to limit civilian from 'targets' ( sadly our Armed Forces/Police/Politicians )

ISIS just go for maximum bloodshed regardless.

Where the hell did you get that opinion from, and if you believe that then you also think one is better than the other, erm

add to that there are a portion of people who might not want to join them but do support or sympathise with them... there are even more who don't like ISIS specifically but do support or sympathise with attacking the west etc.. when you look at the general support for terrorism you're no longer talking about 'small minorities' you're looking at, in some cases, double digit percentages and in a few cases(such as attacking Israel), in certain countries, then majority opinion being sympathetic.

I wish people would stop using this Brexit term. Putting two words together to make a new one was something I did when I was about 10.

Anyway, yet more terrorist attacks, very saddening indeed :(

Evil cowardly scumbags who do this are the worst kind of subhuman scum.

There's extremism in all abrahamic religions, look at Israel, Look at Brevik and the Far Right and Look at Islam...... none of them represent the ordinary people whom follow the traditional versions of the religions they come from. oh and there will have been innocent Muslims caught up as well.
