The moment a man knocked a woman with multiple sclerosis to the ground when a parking row escalated has been caught on CCTV.
Police are now hunting for the man who broke 49-year-old Heather Smith's jaw after she told him he couldn't park in front of her business in Havering, Greater London.
The man, who has not been identified, knocked the 5ft 1in woman off her feet and drove off with the door of his car open.

Sounds horrendous! Though then you see the video where she takes a swing at him first. Granted they're definitely dicks for the parking and bad attitude alone however that is a civil matter really, he's going back to the car and she takes a swing at him... that was a dubious move by her - he then punches her once in return... maybe that was excessive however if someone takes a swing at you (whether they're a middle aged woman or not) you've got a right to defend yourself(at least to some extent).

Edit - the thread title has changed, the original title was simply a copy and paste of part of the Daily Fail headline I should not that I've not claimed the woman in question has attacked anyone (she misses actually)

What a scumbag for hitting a woman, but what on earth was she thinking throwing the first punch, what an idiot she is.

Wouldn't defend them as they look like right scum and just before looks like there is a bit of an altercation just off camera to the right which probably riled her up but looks like a reflex punch probably before he was even thinking in reaction to being swung at - whether you are in the right or wrong if you are gonna punch someone don't miss and make it count lol.

I love how the DM have the picture of the attacker all looking woeful with her business partner, yet totally negate the fact she is the thug who swung for him first.

She got schooled, now she's gone to the papers and crying over the fact.

Watch the bonnet from 1.23 was it the husband that attacked first?

Regardless what a pleb. Although just because shes a MS sufferer doesn't mean she doesn't have any wrong in this. Clearly well enough to attempt to punch someone.

Considering the punch didn't land and being female it was a complete overreaction to level her like that(I am still sexist in this regard).

Don't start a fight you can't win.

Why she felt the need to start grabbing him at all I don't know and the punch from him wasn't exactly a haymaker it was a low power reaction jab.

She's a idiot, he should have just gotten in his car but I can't see the intent to cause any real damage there it was just unfortunate.

Also there's nothing wrong with hitting a woman in the right circumstances, they're not all sweetness and light just because they have a vagina.

She swung first but there are better ways to deal with situations like this.

The man didn't rush to help the woman either when she got knocked down, she was left on the floor for a long time.

A friend of mine lost his left eye because he wouldn't hit a woman who decided she could start beating him about the head with a high-heeled shoe because he laughed at her dropping half a bag of chips on the floor.

Women want equality, she got equality right there.

He reacts so quickly you can tell it's an instinctive retaliation. This is entirely her own fault for pushing and then swinging at him, I'm sorry but for all you guys stating that it's a women, elderly etc - She's the instigator here, she's stepping outside civilised norms by throwing a punch at him, he doesn't even have time to think about retaliating, it's instant.

I'm not defending his actions, both are "wrong" but to defend her in any way is simply daft purely based on what we can see in the CCTV. She clearly isn't trying to engage him in conversation unless she talks through her knuckles and he's moving away - so why the hell is she following?

No court is going to find him guilty, if anything she might be.

Sorry but having a pair of boobs doesn't give you the right to throw a punch.

I don't condone what that guy did. Not at all, complete overreaction when he could have just shoved her away.... so yeah he's scum and looks it.

But in the words of Limp Bizkit "Don't let your mouth write cheques that your ass can't cash".

Don't go around trying to hit people, if you cross that line expect things to get ugly.

Also without audio there is no way to tell what went on here, they seemed to approach those guys pretty aggressively...

This... that makes me more sick tbh... I see it all the time. Some stupid bint thinks she can attempt to hit a guy and get away with it.

It's not at all surprising that the Daily Mail has misrepresented the story is it? What should have been said:

Business owner and her partner attack a member of the public before they manage to get away

The fact that she suffers from MS means she shouldn't go around provoking violence, not that she can take a swing at anyone and get away with it. What did she think would happen? The guy appears to be getting into his car, having parked for less than a minute, to leave when she attacks him with her partner seemingly already having had a go at him.

Be attacked twice and don't retaliate, yeah right.
