As a former fat person who went to gym during my weight loss and still goes now this is just your own insecurities, no one really cares to be honest. There are a few reasons why people stare at the gym; your doing something wrong, your lifting a lot of weight or your a hot girl in yoga pants.

Pretty much spot on.

Hahaha, this is 100% truth.

Let's be honest, hot girl in yoga pants are the main reason many go to the gym in the first place.

Also, I once saw a dude fall off a treadmill when he was busted staring at a hottie in the gym. No word of a lie!

I think yu will find that these days, the main reason why people go tot eh gym is to sit down in a vest top on the only free flat benches and browse facebook so they can change their status to 'work hard, play hard' with a picture of their latest choco chunk protein shake.

A gym has just opened downstairs to my office. Since we own the building, i get a discount and have entry at all hours to avoid these spray tan ****heads.

I've noticed that at the place I go to, except it's not just the benches. I'm forever waiting for pieces of resistance equipment because people just sit on the damned things for no apparent reason.

I take my phone with me but only because I like to listen to music/watch a video while I'm on the treadmill, bike or rowing machine (because I don't have the motivation or attention span to do it for more than 5 minuets without :D). But Facebook? Really?

Sheilas in spandex is the reason anything happens.

So what EXACTLY about this advert that is offensive?

Actually, as an alien, I find it particularly offensive that you humans believe we are all perverted, abducting, probing weirdos who have nothing better to do than torture a technologically inferior race of sentient beings. Some of us are just regular guys/girls, trying to live a normal happy life with our families without any of that aggro!

See the ocuk perfect are out again even though statistically it can't be a place of perfection.

It's why I love OcUK though. Go on to Reddit for a change, everyone there is so busy sucking each other off and being super duper friendly and polite and editing their posts fifty times and thanking someone each edit because they missed a comma and the world is full of unicorns and rainbows and super duper tolerant people and bla ****ing bla.

Makes me sick. At least on GD you can generally call a spade a spade.

That's rubbish and you know it. If it wasn't, then the rules of this forum shouldn't apply about supposed personal attacks. Even if it was true, it would get you a potential ban and why would that be?
You know this isn't real life yeah?

The primary reason we crack down on personal attacks is to prevent things kicking off between users. As it is this thread has worse comments about fat people than the advert itself, but do you see deleted posts?

Whilst I'm not offended by this ad I do think that the attitude of a lot of gyms, and those who attend them, is pretty poor towards overweight people who want to go.

I'm overweight and unfit. I know I am and I want to do something about it. I'm changing my diet but that will only achieve so much - I can't get fit through diet alone.

Going to the gym, for me, is hard because there are so many judgemental people there. As I walk in I can sometimes feel the collective eyes of all the super healthy people looking at me saying "what are YOU doing here?". The same when I can't run 10k on a treadmill in one go or can't sit on the cycle machine for an hour non-stop.

Overweight people going to the gym should be supported the most - they're people who know that they need to better themselves and are doing something about it and yet the attitude towards us sucks a lot of the time which only puts us off going even more.

Gym goers have a poor attitude against fat people who don't try. Fat people in the gym you know are at least trying, all it takes is a few weeks and you can shred a lot of fat but people just use any excuse not to go. If you want to get fit you'll get fit, don't give a **** about what anyone else thinks, they'll always be someone else fitter than you.

I'm a gym goer and neither I, nor anyone I know has that attitude to people trying to get fitter and healthier, wherever they currently are, I wouldn't be so hasty to judge everyone based on some doorhandle being nasty to you. Good on you for trying, I'd high five you if I could.
