I have just watched the finale episode myself and love the characterisation of Neegan. Such a shame he and the Governor will never meet as that may have been an interesting mix. Unfortunately the TV Show loves closure and killing off some of its best characters.
I think they might have killed Daryl off, but then Glenn is always an option. Then again, most of the characters are likely to be an option, except for Rick and Carl...

Well the fans are furious by the looks of it and I can see why people are so irritated. The cliffhanger and cheesy blood ruined one of the best 10 minutes on tv.

Let's see how it works out for them on fear the walking dead...
I thought it was a strong episode, very tense. I didn't love the cliffhanger but it's not a new concept I guess. I think the reaction to the ending was in part down to previous dirty tricks, such as the Glenn "death" with name being removed etc and the same trick with Daryl. Even the mid season finale showed the boy alerting the zombies only for that scene to be changed the next episode.
I like the actor playing Negan but the dialogue in that scene could have been better. Copying a comic so closely is a questionable decision.
As for the victim, people seem to think Glenn, Abraham or Daryl. I think Abraham was the misdirect (there's usually one). Daryl would be strange to kill the very episode they revealed his previous "death" was escaped. He's very popular too. So my moneys on Glenn! They have seemingly worked to set up Maggy for a change of direction (there has to be some reason for that hair right?
). Also, I suspect they may start the new season showing what happened to Daryl etc leading up to the showdown. It seems a better fit if one of that group then dies.

It does make sense though don't you think? You can't really be ambushed as you have a 360 view at all times and walkers can't swim...

Exactly. So much more safer. Quick drive to Florida, sure there would be fuel to find on the way, steal a large boat and there you have it!
Ginger Duke Nukem, Mullet and a few others were headed there, but the whole cure thing turned out to be a lie so they didn't end up going.
