Not tried it with Nova Launcher and it does return to original size.

Reported to also work with other apps (see link comments).

Maybe so, but I have the S7 edge & the note 5, I don't know what Samsung did to the screen on the edge but it looks so much clearer than the note 5. Both are great device's, cannot wait to see what the note 6 screen will be like.
