For those who have left Facebook how are things on the other side? Did you keep messenger or go all the way? Curious to know why people left too.

Left over a year ago. No issues, but then I rarely looked at it anyway due to it just becoming an endless flow of selfies and self indulgence.

you'll lose a lot of invitations to stuff, if your group uses facebook to organise stuff.
and you can use it how you want you don't have to read anything etc.

Can't stand Facebook, just too invasive for my liking. I opened an account several months back and closed it down within a week. I have not gone back, don't think about or feel outside each time I see hear my friends referring to it.

As someone who has never subscribed; I am resigned to the fact that seemingly everyone else is.

It’s depressing how the use of smart phones competes with actual social interaction. I despair when down the boozer and see how quickly people can get caught up with it.

Uninstalled everything and deactivated account.
I haven't looked back and it's made no difference to my life nor have I missed any invitations, if people really wanted you to attend something there's plenty of ways for them to contact you.

the ones not on facebook, miss out a lot on spare of the moment type things. coming to pub/cinema etc.

the reasons for not using facebook or leaving it in these threads is always funny.

Facebook/Twitter seems to be the normal way of life these days? Or all there is to life? You just need to look around.

Never used it, if people want to contact me they know where I am.

A bit like the tube trains? Everyone forgets you because you aren't in the circle...

Never used it. I only set up an account (under a comedy fake name) some years back because you had to 'like' some page to get free stuff. That's all it gets used for, competitions and free stuff that need you to 'like' a particular thing.

This thing has become so ingrained into society that not having an account has actually cost me a job in the past.

I left a little while back after being a silly boy and needing to lie low for a bit.

Don't miss it at all. I use email groups and telegram for my hobby stuff now.
