Out of a interest how much did you pay for Rythmn & Stealth, Music Has The Right To Children and Endtroducing?

I've got them in the loft. Last time I looked on Discogs, Boards of Canada was worth a few bob. My Leftfield is on the 9" vinyl box set, dunno how rare that is though.

Not really, you seen how hot they get, especially 4 of them at 7200rpm.

To quote Steve on the Security Now podcast a few weeks ago...

Well worth it for £20 for all 4 and having tested them even just sitting on top it works great and with no extra fans on the drive casing no vibration issues

Fail to see the point, the heatsinks take up space for little reason. An 80mm fan blowing down the end of a block of drives keeps them stone cold, takes up no drive space and costs basically nothing, never had an issue in the last 15 years doing this in any of my old building or my servers.

I dont see the point in coloured LEDs or waterblocks on everything thats just me.

So my 5D3 batteries finally crossed the "I should get new batteries" threshold.

Given that Canon are set to announce the 5D4/5DX in Q3/Q4 this year, I didn't want to spend silly money on originals, so the next best thing from Hahnel was the answer. Not exactly cheap, but cheaper than OEM, and reviews seem very favourable for their performance.

But it doesn't really matter, they're designed to operate within a fairly broad temperature range and various studies have shown that cooler drives aren't really any more reliable or less likely to fail.

Unless they're hitting 80 degrees or something I can't really see an issue.

When Im transferring terabytes of raw video footage around they get too hot to touch. Im not talking about general day to day use cases.

How easy to drop files onto - So damn easy, plug in then drag and drop.
playlists - Not done any yet, but there is a folder for them so clearly has them in mind
Radio reception - Okay, though really depends on your location and surroundings more than anything
Battery life - Very good so far, only used for a couple of hours though. Only really want it to last max of 3 hours. I'm sure it'll be fine.
Etc - It's cheap and cheerful, but definitely surprising for the money. Seems very durable and the clip is a big a pretty strong.

Awesome - thanks :-)

If that's a joint drive and garage I hope you don't have a bone head living next door - Joint drive would ruin it for me.

Well done on house though.
