I see the usual anti-Muslim brigade are out just because of the actions of a few nutters.
You could easily say the same about the anti abortion religious right in America shooting doctors and other health workers.

There are nutters in every country, of every colour and every religion.

To be fair though it has been quite a while since any Christians went on a religious crusade and beheaded/slaughtered people.
 
Culture defines religion, not the other way round - why is our flavour of Christianity tolerant of gays, abortion and contraception. Were our vicars and bishops persuaded to be open to homosexuality and then they persuaded the wider community? No, it's a laughable idea. So why do we expect it to happen any differently in other cultures?

If the cultures in countries hostile to homosexuality change their tune, their religious leaders do too, always been the same - religion is no different to politics in this regard, they play to the biggest crowd and once it becomes un-popular they jump onto another platform and deny their old ideas.

Well with rare exceptions we are relatively safe here in the UK. We all live our lives without fear of death for being gay or being an atheist or whatever. Some places in the world it's just madness, mainly thanks to religion.

i dunno about that most of my gay or transgender friends have been violently assaulted because of it in their lives here in the uk.


maybe you dont have to worry because you're not gay?
