Good job he was not being investigated for sexual contact with an under-age girl, otherwise they would have had to play him.

Not quite. There was no VAT paid as he moved abroad. Selling to Barca for £65m was worth £78m had we sold to a PL side but that wasn't what was paid.

As Moses mentioned, the 1 thing that's been ignored is that Barca took on all other costs which would include any sell on clauses and such. Without knowing the cost of these, it's impossible to know the exact value of the deal.

Tongue was firmly in cheek! :D

Kane to Madrid or maybe Chelsea as Costa might get bused out at the end of the season
Ali to City to replace Tourre who is spent
I reckon Leicester will hold on to Vardy et.al. as they will 100% get champions leage next season
Payet will get sold to Chelsea or City
Sturridge will get sold on to a mid table side like west brom who is turn will off load berahino to spurs as the Kane replacement

Is this a list of things that won't happen?

Of all those predictions I think Vardy staying at Leicester is about the only 1 that's likely.

Sky Sports News HQ understands Zlatan Ibrahimovic has indicated a willingness to join Manchester United at the end of this season, but only if Louis van Gaal leaves the club this summer.

Ibrahimovic is out of contract at Paris St Germain at the end of this season, and is considering all of his options, with serious interest from clubs in the Premier League and Chinese Super League.

He confirmed at a press conference in March there has been interest in him from English clubs, yet Sky sources have confirmed he has reservations about joining United with the Dutchman in charge.

I like the sound of this, with Rooney now rubbish we'll need a senior striker. Few better, even at his age. Would tie in well with Mourinho too.

What do you mean, short term thinking? You can see it already, Zlatan in and Martial sold to Wolfsburg on the cheap ;)

Yes that's what I mean, I have no problem with cutting a few corners given our current situation. Admittedly it didn't work with Falcao but Zlatan is a bit different.

Not to say he's past it at any point, however the French league is a complete stroll for a team like PSG and has made him look fantastic again (which he is). However, will he live up to the hype in the EPL? I honestly don't think he will. He'll still be a great asset for any team though.

difference being Falcao just came back from a huge injury....missed the world cup and was never the same.

Zlatan is just a more talented footballer sans massive knee injury..

I cant be happy till LVG and Carrick, Young, Valencia, Jones, Lindgard, al get shown the door because these are not good quality players.

I haven't even mentioned Mata, Herrera, Schneiderlin who are all massively costly and offer nothing. Then theres the fall man, Fellaini, and questions over rooneys future. Rojojo aint ever going to be a good defender.

I count us needing 10x first team players...

You don't need 10 first team players, you need a manager that doesn't take players who were excellent at previous clubs and ruin them. Those players didn't forget how to play football, the management and training is the clear problem.

They need a new manager who is actually capable of utilising the squad to some effect.

young, valencia and carrick were never top class to begin with.

Mata doesn't produce, lindgard doesn't produce, hes the kind of player you bring on when 3-0 up for 15 minutes experience, not rely upon him week in week out. as for the rest...

Tonights transfer story seems to be Liverpool being interested in 20 year old Borussia Mönchengladbach midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud. Yea I have no idea who he is either but talk of a €30m fee suggests he's thought of fairly highly.
