Harrow schoolboy died from single punch after telling club promoter: 'You'll work for me one day'

So worrying comments in this thread. So going to Public School means you are arrogant and deserve to die? Wow...

No, telling some random guy in the street that they'll be working for you because you see yourself as so far above them means that no one is going to feel sorry for you if he then hits you. I don't think the kid deserved to die at all

but he didn't just say that to a random guy - he was an aggressive guy who beeped at them from his quad bike, then when told to **** off got into a scuffle and pushed his mate to the floor...

Ok maybe I've got the story wrong then, it was a stupid thing to say in that situation but it's a shame the kid didn't get a chance to learn that lesson

Nothing that was said deserves a punch and the death of a school boy. If you have to resort to violence when no violence was shown to you it really is a sad state of affairs.

Doesn't half help get your point across though! The punch bit, not the death bit.

... and just in case you've have to head to Google to work out what I meant. Don't get confused about the definition of incredible I'm referring to, it's the first one.

Quick test, go around telling people they'll be working for you one day and count the amount of times you get punched or involved in a physical alteration. There's a lot of incredible people about

Does it? Makes you look like a knuckle dragging Neanderthal to me.

Wow you punched someone... So alpha. :/

Might well do (not disagreeing) however you'd still remember the point they were trying to make, or you'd certainly think twice about expressing whatever point you'd just tried to make.

Where do you draw the line though? Someone disrespects you it's cool, what about your girlfriend/wife? Kids? I don't think it's a good idea to punch people at all, but no one's disrespected me to that extent ever either

Being disrespected via meaningless words is daft. Just shrug it off and walk away. Life's too short to get worried about what people think. If someone physically threatens someone that's different, but words are just words.

I realise people react differently And this is just how I feel about it, but I still don't feel any words justify someone hitting someone. The guy should have realised this was a slightly cocky school kid and just let it go.

Perhaps that's because you're secure in both yourself and your situation. You're evidently successful. This man however may not have the self esteem you do. It's very easy when upset to resort to violence. Sometimes it's the only means people have of restoring what they feel is control over a situation.

Mmm I don't know - some people, the weasley sort, think they can get away with anything on the basis of "words are words". Those sort of people that step on others deserve everything and anything coming their way.

That said, this kid was cocky and I'm not surprised if he got a slap but total overkill here.... literally :s

Unless they were retarded the response would likely be 'lolwut' and they'd carry on with their lives.

should have, but didn't and is now paying the price.. Thing is though, i'm sure a large percentage of the male population would have also punched him had they been spoken to like that.
