Is it really going to be double the speed though?

I'm no expert but been roughly following this so maybe someone else can chime in. I want to see some benchmarks though but these new cards do sound promising...

You maybe should have waited, yes - but that doesn't detract from the fact that the 980Ti is still a fantastic card that still maxes out games quite happily at 1440p.

So, don't worry about it and get on enjoying your card.

[Edit] I think Anandtech said that based on some quick maths it's going to be ~30% faster than the 980Ti.

It's 25% better than a Titan in performance apparently. I can't believe I didn't wait, I feel awful :(

Thanks. I was hoping someone would say this lol. Do you think I would be able to max out the new Battlefield and COD when it comes out on my current rig?

Just a little depressing knowing a new GPU which is cheaper and better than what I have.

have you not been around on the forums pascal announcement been expected for a while. are you past your 14 days. you still have a good card that will last a while

Yeah... thanks a lot.
I just look at it in a funny perspective, at the end of the day GPU's lose more value than anything, it's just the way it is.

Your card will still own everything in games, it's still a fantastic card, don't worry. :)

6GB I believe.

id be happy with that plenty of ram if you ever make the step up to 4k or decide to use ultra textures on games if you have no problems with games now id be happy its hard to tell but mainly these ugprades seem to be helping vr more. I wont be buying into vr until the headsets are more friendly price tag wise still high for me to splash 600 on a headset

Ah I see thanks. I'm still on 1080p, I want to go into 4k gaming but I don't have the money to invest in a new monitor yet.

If you bought it not so long ago, consider returning it?

Anything in your credit card/shop T&Cs that will let you do that?

980ti will keep you going for a while - no point upgrading to new ones if you got it, yes you lost some of money but that's the technology for you - 980ti can last you long time, so just enjoy all games being fast on 1080p - got same card bought last year!

I know its a bit of S'y thing to happen when holding off on parts but like you said your on 1080p aint on 4k and id imagine your maxing everything out on that 4k wise your only 2gb short from what the latest card is offering 3.5gb to 8gb is a big jump for me with my 970 but 6 doesnt seem worth the upgrade to me my two pennys

Samhfx, can only reiterate what Dmitry has stated. 1080p is a great resolution and 980's destroy it. I will only trade up on the 90 day EVGA program if the reviews show the new cards at +30% plus, if not I will keep what I have. What I dont want though is noisy air coolers, these hybrids have spoilt me.

Long story short I built my very first gaming PC a few weeks ago, I bought a lovely 980 TI GPU. However, I just heard a new GPU has just come out which is x2 better than the 980 Ti which I just purchased.

Should I of waited? I feel bad now, I got this GPU but now a new GPU has just been released which is practically 980 Ti in a SLI in a single card.

You most certainly should have waited sir. Did anyone here advise you to buy them now? As mentioned, 980Ti second hand price will plummet to £200-250 now.

Just enjoy what you got at this point and do more research before buying in the future.

Awwww I actually feel liking giving the original poster a hug and I don't mean it in a condescending way either, it is a shame OP but you shouldn't let it stop you from enjoying your system, like you said this is your very first gaming PC and for a first system the 980Ti is still a very nice card, especially @ 1080p, the 980Ti will continue to own that res for a long while yet.
