Hey all,

As per the title, is OCUK selling this one on the said launch date? The reason I ask is I thought I (rightly or wrongly) read that you can only get this "Founder Edition" directly from Nvidia?? Hope I got that totally wrong as I only 'do' reference coolers :p

I must say it's great to finally get something I can replace my Twin SLI GTX780's with and feel like a significant enough jump for the money....I just wasnt convinced the 980Ti was where I wanted to be, especially since I cant afford to upgrade every year or two like some of you ;)

Pretty sure its nvidia only selling them so no retailers would be selling them. Unless i mistook the situation at the event.

Well if this is the case, I wont be purchasing the GTX1080 this time around as I dont think Nvidia have a UK store and I must have reference cards. I would also have pull the sell of my reference 780's! :o

AIBs will also be producing reference designs similar to the Founders Edition (same cooler design) and custom models at the launch day for the cards with MSRPs set at $379 US for the GTX 1070 and $599 US for the GTX 1080.

If that's correct you should have a variety of options, subject to stock levels on the 27th.

NVidia do also have a notify me option on the UK site for the Founders Edition, so either they will sell it themselves, or link you to resellers that will stock it when it's available for order.

This is usefull information thankyou - Im not fussed about it being the "founders edition" per say, just the cooler.

Why is the cooler so important?

They will probably be reference cards available on Ocuk. They always strive to make a reference card if no one else does.

No one really knows what the founders edition is.

Because stylistically speaking, I think all of Nvidia's reference coolers since the original Titan and 690 are beautiful, this new one included.

Now I know they arent everyones cup of Tea, but If I'm about to drop a load of cash on a pair of cards I will likely keep for 3 years I want the style I like best ;) My case lighting is green and I want it all matching like I have currently!

Also I love the closed cooling solution, I dont know if thats what you boff's call it but I like the idea of venting hot air out the back of my case!

For the love of god if OCUK make their own reference-based 1080's, please let them have RGB lighting instead of that god-awful green glow!
