Police who staged a mock attack featuring a bomber shouting "Allahu Akbar" have been forced to apologise for racial stereotyping.

How dare they replicate real life events in order to prepare for the most likely type of attack that could happen today!

However much politically correct organisations want to call it racial stereotyping the absolute truth is that the vast majority of terrorist attacks in the last few years in Europe have been by Islamic fundamentalists. I think it's fair then for the police to style their mock attack on their methods and make it as realistic as possible by using the "Allahu Akbar" phrase.

What are your opinions on this? Should they have been forced to apologise or is this a case of PC groups sticking their fingers in their ears and pretending that Islam isn't the most significant terrorist threat to the UK right now?

I'm not bothered by it but there wasn't really a need to have someone running along shouting Allahu Akbar in quite that manner really heh. Ultimately there is a need to train for that kind of stuff with relatively realistic parameters so people need to get over themselves and stop being so overly sensitive about things where clearly there was no intention of causing offense.

What a joke.

When was the last time somebody blew themselves up in the name of Buddha or Vishnu?

The majority of terrorists are currently Muslim, it's not steroetyping at all it's a fact.

If this mock attack was done in the 80's I fully expect they would have been shouting in an Irish accent and it would have made complete sense for that time.

**** em, no need to apologise

Are you sure that was what was being said as if it was in the Orient of the Trafford centre he could have been shouting, 'look a snack bar'

I'm no fan of political correctness but having someone shout Allahu Ackbar or anything else at all has no impact on the exercise or anyone's training or effectiveness does it so it does seem a bit silly and pointless. Was obviously going to provoke a reaction and it doesn't help build relationships with the Muslim community given that the phrase isn't solely used by terrorists (in fact quite the opposite).

Source please.

Did you polish your liberal badge of honour as you typed that. :D

Exactly this. During IRA terrorist training did people go around shouting stuff in Irish accents? Seems utterly pointless and asking for trouble really, whoever could have thought that it was a good idea.
