Summer Transfer Window 2016/17 - Rumours & Signings

Arsenal have been linked with Alvaro Morata at Juve could be a good buy but real madrid have a buy back

If Arsenal start sniffing around him then they might take the option. I'd of thought getting in Morata and selling Benzema would be a decent option. I'd do that if i was RM manager, really don't rate Benzema that much, he's never blown me away with his ability.

I think that Xhaka could be Arsenal's first signing, a lot momentum with that one. Never really seen him play but he's highly thought of. Would like to see a decent quick agile striker come into the club as well.

There's a kid ripping it up in the Australian league that looks decent, he'd be cheap and worth a punt for certain clubs, not Arsenal but Leeds certainly..Jamie Maclaren

Can't disagree with any of those players on the Utd blacklist from that video.

But the issue is that it's only some of the players that need to go. Just shows how lvg has been a failure.

On the flip side, what is the value as Man Utd as a company one the stock exchange? If we have to buy 8+ players at 30-40 million each that's 240 million minimum to buy players of a quality we need. That's a significant portion of the value of the business....

Well the going rate for someone who's not even a top England international is about 30 mill minimum. A good striker can be 40-60 million...

If we buy another load of Rojos we'll hardly make any progress so what's the point in that?

Is this a wind up? :p

He hasn't scored anywhere near enough, especially when you consider the players around him and his all round play is mostly garbage.

I'd love to see some offside stats as well, he seems to be continuously the wrong side.

I wish they had stats on how many times a player is on his ass in a game and through a season. Giroud would definitely be top in that stat as everytime I see him with his back to the goal...he ends up on his ass with the slightest touch:p

Its really not. Some of our players aren't up to scratch but until we have a good manager I wouldn't get rid of many of them. 3 signings in the summer will do us fine. Is Chelseas first XI full of utter rubbish or have they just had a bad season.

We need:

CB
RB - perhaps
AM
ST
RW

Thats if we really want to go all out. I don't think that we have a bad squad at all. I just think we have a **** manager who no one wants to play for and whos tactics are completely wrong for the players we have.

I wouldn't mind Ibra but not if he's going to ask for crazy wages.

He was dreadful in every PSG game I saw, he isn't really involved in build-up because he's so lazy and then he somehow manages to still always be offside when the ball gets into the box. I think he'd be dreadful in a top league these days, he just doesn't move enough.

So you don't think we also need a good central midfielder or left wing too? You must enjoy watching dross each week.

even a depay or schneiderlin is nearly 30 million each. Clearly neither are good enough so what would you do with them?

Depay I can't comment on, but Schneiderlin IS good enough. He has played terrible for you, but so has almost everyone else. LvG has managed to make some really good players look like pub players.

Runningman, you seem think that LvG has got the best out of all our players and that they are just all ****. I think that we can write off the last 2 seasons form wise for 90% of our players. There are a few who are clearly not up to scratch but the only ones I would really be happy to let go without seeing again under a new manager are:

Rojo - never looks that good and usually is a liability

Rooney - paid a kings ransom and is just poor these days. Trying to live up to his past and what he sees as his future role means that he negatively effects games far too much.

Fellaini - Don't like him as a player and I don't like the way you have to play with him in the team. To play him you have to sacrifice the rest of the team to suit his lack of passing, tackling and pace.

Mata - Love the guy but his position is a key one and he isn't mobile enough, quick enough and he isn't good in tight spaces compared to the best no10s around.

The rest of the players deserve a second chance or are fine for squad and rotation players.

Next season I would be happy to see us try out something like

DDG

Darmian - Smalling - New CB - Shaw

New RW - Schneiderlin - Herrera - New LW

New AM

Martial

Thats 4 new players with plenty of backup in most positions and potentially only 3 if Memphis comes good under a different manager.

I honestly wouldn't care that much if we didn't even get 3 new players as long as that utter **** LvG is gone.

He's had a bad year in 2016 but if you take that away his conversion rate is pretty good for goals and games. He just isn't the main striker we need.

Joey Barton in talks with Rangers.

We've got Josh Windass and Matt Crooks coming on pre-contract deals, and we picked up Jordan Rossiter from Liverpool a few days ago.

Looks like the man with the magic hat is getting business sorted out early! I like it.

If we wanna get excited and belive twitter rumours and German press we have put a bid in for Gotze! Would love him at Liverpool he would be quality for us having him countinho and firminho upfront would be amazing

Schneiderlin has never impressed me and I've no idea why we were interested in him or bought him. He is average - very average.

A central midfield of he and hererra .. wow you must be an arsenal fan in disguise, why would you wish such pain on us? It will never work.

Its going to be difficult enough to get replacements for CB, RW and AM at the quality required (even with Mourinho in place) which is why I think keeping Martial and Rashford as they have been is easing one headache management dont need this summer (ie getting two quality wide players, when one will do).

RB is awkward imo, as Darmian has been excellent in some games and shocking in others and yet I dont want to **** Varela's development either by bringing someone in ahead of him and it would be unfair on Darmian to sell him on so quickly. I also wouldnt even mention Memphis as a possiblity of a starting position yet - by all means give him another season at least but only as a sub to start with (under new management, if LvG stays we might as well sell / loan him next season imo) and see how he does

One good thing about today's result is that at least Ibra is less likely to come now with no CL on offer (I was dreading him arriving at a much more competitive EPL compared to Ligue 1)
