US University offers counselling to students after Sombreros worn at Tequila Party

Guess its a sign of how much we've progressed as a society that all the big battles for the most part have been won leaving the traditionally rebellious youth nothing left to protest about but this garbage.

The real battle will be getting the rest of the world to this level of bickering, now that would be progress

I'd hardly say the big battles are over, there are plenty of non insane "rebellious youth" protesting real issues, these are just the mentally ill ones on Tumblr who thrive off the attention people in this thread give them along side their cycle jerk on tumblr. There was a movement awhile back called Nambla, no one took them seriously and they were at best thought of as completely insane, never mind criminal, the tumblerites are just a version of that but without a pedophilic objective.

"Battles" for social equality are easy, they naturally develope over time anyway, the real issues are always economic as it's a never ending war for balance between proletariat and aristocracy.

says it all really, we've managed to breed an entire generation of attention seeking brats.

Amen.

lol, it is like that US university where students got into trouble for a Mexican themed party but the faculty/university threw a soviet themed party

it is only bad/cultural appropriation it seems if the 'culture' involves people who are hypersensitive and/or are on the radar of SJW types

^You mean, "not white people", because that is who it seems to be most of the time. I have no doubt that people spot opportunities to play the race card out of some sad feeling of resentment, or just sheer power trip and when they play that card then lo behold anyone who speaks against that.

well yes

I mean should students in Africa have to consult white European students before having a formal sit down black tie meal with dinner jackets etc...

it is just ridiculous, it isn't any concern about racism it is just trying to jealously guard a victim status

"Also because it's homogenising an entire continent of over 50 countries – which would never happen with a European themed formal.

"The distinction is always made between different European countries."

Jesus, really? People frequently homogenise European culture, especially in places like the USA and east Asia. No one cares.

Cultural appropriation is a direct result of extreme identity politics, denying people the freedom to advertise a meal of pepper soup and plantain curry in Swahili is bigotry in its own right.

maybe he/she can be 'gender fluid/non-binary' now :D

Ian Halperin, the author of Kardashian Dynasty: The Controversial Rise of America’s Royal Family, first made the claim after speaking with multiple sources he said told him that Jenner had been experiencing 'sex change regret.'
Halperin told The Wrap that one of Jenner's longtime friend - who is not named - told him her detransition could happen in the next few years.

The way this thread is heading at the moment reminds me of that film "Demolition Man". It's now like year 2030-odd and the entire human race have turned into a bunch of pansies. No caffeine, no alcohol, no swearing (not even "bloody hell"), and intercourse can only be done via virtual reality in case the real thing "offends" anyone. We are definitely heading in that direction!

It's also extremely racist:

1) It requires the belief that everything is to be utterly associated with race, even food.

2) It requires the belief that only people of the "right race" are to be allowed any particular thing, even down to what they eat, with the exception of:

3) It requires the belief that everything the person believes to be "white" should be available to everyone, but everything the person believes to be "not white" should not be.

It's racism piled on racism piled on racism and part of the problem is that these monumentally racist people are assuming that everyone else is as racist as they are.

You have a point there... Except we won't have flying cars in 2030. Just a world of pathetic people.

result of 'prompting' by a SJW perhaps?

so she's angry that it was filmed on snapchat and is persuaded to cry 'rape' by a 'student officer'...

update on the rape case...

quite clearly not rape, she'd got a history of being promiscuous. sent naked pictures to one of them, they all went back to hers and had sex with ehr... then went back to the ball... then she went back again with two of them for a second round of sex... then went back to the ball...

then she got upset by snapchat and people **** shaming her so cried rape

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...nts-reveal-really-happened-taint-forever.html

seems the police were quite keen to ignore facts and bury evidence, lucky for the guys involved they could afford a good legal team - the current 'rape culture' hysteria would seem to be in effect here

They won't though. I had s friend falsely accused of rape at uni. She picked 3 times she decided he had raped her, luckily for him one time he was out of the country, second time at a football match third time at a family dinner. He was suspended from uni pending investigation (so no innocent until proven guilty) he was given grief from loads of people as with him being suspended people wrongly assumed guilt.

When proved he was innocent police dropped it without apologising, would not Persue her for false allegations and the uni acted although she had done nothing wrong.

Disgraceful but typical of the approach these days.

well they could go for a private prosecution, I'd assume they'd need to show it was malicious etc.. there was a guy who did this in the press a year or two aga though his false accuser then later committed suicide and so he caught some flack for that on top of the false rape allegation

Trial by media so to speak...

Can only hope she herself is prosecuted now.

For what? Her attack on the men isn't directly illegal, nor is it particularly socially unacceptable. She might possibly be prosecuted for wasting police time, maybe, possibly, but probably not. It's a relatively minor crime and probably won't be considered worth the resources that would be used or the negative PR that the police would face for saying that she was lying about being raped (regardless of the evidence that she was).

actually 'perverting the course of justice' can be quite serious, in the below case the falsely accused 'rapist' took out a private prosecution which the CPS then took over.... but yeah initially the Police/CPS probably won't care about the false allegations, especially give the role of the Police in trying to support the accuser rather than actually investigate the incident

False rape claims not particularly socially unacceptable.

I've seen it all now.

Women can and have been jailed for making false rape claims.
