Because its a good idea, people just to stupid to use it. much easier than getting the code and giving it to family/mates.
Like many things in 10 - great idea, face palmingly bad implementation.

OK over the last wweek or so I have noticed quite a few GBs at least 30+ that seem to be missing from my C Drive on Windows 10, so after mooching about within my C Drive I came across under hidden files a folder named "ProgramData" within this folder is an Origin folder that is 32Gbs .....does that sound right ? I should say that All my origin games ( like my steam and Uplay games are installed on other SSDs .
Also since last night another 5 Gbs seem to have gone, I should also say I dont use system protection....and i dont have a "windows Old " folder, i got rid of that after upgrading to win10, so all in all...windows is telling me that I'm using 80Gbs for my C Drive ...
The origin folder was 32Gbs lol...so what i did was dump origin , games , folders anything orgine...and now after reinstalling origin...I have 43.1 Gbs used, and free space of 189 Gbs which is what i wwould have expected .
Perhaps it was some game installers

Yet again, my machine had issue s shutting down last night. It was still attempting it when I got up this morning.
Never had a problem on the same computer with Windows 7 or 8.1. It is the first time it has done it in a while, anyone have any ideas?
Look in the Orgin settings you can change the location of its download folder as this will be separate to where it installs games to, I believe there is an option for Orgin to delete the install files once the game is installed.
Also unless you use hibernation you will have a hidden file on your C: drive equal to the size of your RAM.
You can turn it off with admin command prompt and use the command "powercfg /h off"no reboot is needed as you get the space back straight away.

I always disable that stuff in preference of my own NAS backup - but I did have to laugh how it was close to perfect in 8 and then meh in 10.
.I use MSMG Toolkit to remove all the apps, OneDrive, Defender and some other bits that I regard as useless from my ISO images.I always disable that stuff in preference of my own NAS backup - but I did have to laugh how it was close to perfect in 8 and then meh in 10.

Why do you take defender off?
