Lawnmower Question

Thanks to this thread I went out and bought a Duraplug from B&Q £3 job done. Only cut a third of the lawn before I ruined the cable and it has a mushroom cut going on but for goodness sake I'll sort it tomorrow evening!!!

Thank god I used an RCD extension too! Could have died?!

To be honest I think the original poster is dead, 8 years ago this thread was started!:D

It's certainly more of a man's mower ;)

I realised our B&S powered mower is now about 6+ years old now when we had to fix it the other week (for a whopping £3).
 
Had to check my Mountfield B&S motor over as it kept cutting out,inlet manifold was cracked, got one off the bay for a fiver, put it on, wouldn't start. Neglected to read the manual, you take off the coil to replace the manifold, air gap between the coil and flywheel has to be set right. Dug out the feeler gauge, set the air gap, it's running like a champ!

Mate of mine has a 45 year old honda that flat out refuses to be beaten by his 8 year old b&s behemoth.

Interestingly the "new" ones seem to have plastic camshafts these days, you'd think it was nuts till you took a badly abused one apart to see moulding marks still on the face of them.

Me ma's been getting worried about a rust hole on ours, doesnt seem to understand a rust hole in a steel chassis can be repaired.
