I think it will absolutely be north of £400.

If the £619 for the 1080 is correct (we dont know) then £400 or 450 for the 1070 is highly possible.

I HOPE the partner companies will have their prices below the Founders editions. But why would they? They are offereing more performance for less money?! When has that EVER happened?!!

My MSI 970s were some of the cheapest 970s on the market when I got them at release. That might have been Gibbo doing some sterling work in procurement though.
 
Would not be surprised with its popularity and lack of competition from the red side. Haven't seen any hint of falling prices from latest Nvidia cards which is a worry.

Costs less to run than a 980Ti for similar performance?
 
If the memorys gimped, then just buy a 1080 from the off, as be absolutely no point buying a one of these, only to return it with the extra cash for the 1080 like before with the 970s, complete waste of time :p

I get that Nvidia has said they are placing the FE versions at a high price point, so that the board partners can undercut them.

Problem is, the 1080 has turned out to be an overheating, downclocking disappointment (Just my opinion!) and after overclocking is only 15% up on a decent 980ti at 1450mhz.

Why would partners release a better 1080 card for less money than a FE? When have consumers ever recieved more for less?

Call me cynical, but Nvidia has just raised the bar for pricing. IF the price of the 1080FE is true (we don't know) then they have just raised the green flag for everyone else.

1. More memory
2. Less power
3. First drivers and in the past Nvidia cards always improve a lot over the first few months of drivers so even it it starts the same level, the 1070 is far more likely to improve and end up faster
4. a 980ti does the same fps in both dx11 and dx12 versions of games whereas the 1070 will be faster in the dx12 versions.

The question is why, even if they are both the same performance, would anybody buy the older 980ti?
 
If the 1080 can manage 4k at decent frames on high i might switch my ti's for a 1080, then upgrade to a 1080ti when they come out. its annoying when games dont properly support sli then you end up playing on medium settings
 
379usd + 20% VAT =around 310gbp

With 6.5 TFLOPS, which is higher than 980ti (5.63TFLOPS) and Titan X (6.14TFLOPS) but at a much lower price
I am really worry about AMD now...:(
 
If the 1070 is closer to £400, with performance similar or slightly better than a 980 Ti, I'm thinking of just buying an aggressively overclocked 980 Ti which closes the gap; hopefully for around £300?
