OCUK 970/980/980ti price droppage

Im also keeping an eye out for prices; it may turn-out for me that I might get better performance getting an second 980ti, than to move to the 1080. I would prefer to get new, than used. I guess the 2nd hand-market will drop as well.
 
if the 1080s are around £600 like the rumors then there will probably no or minimal price drops on the 980Ti

a lot of people selling their 980 Tis for £300 might have done it prematurely
 
i wish the 1080/70 would come out sharpish so that peasants like myself can afford to buy a 980ti for peanuts ;)

1070 is faster than the TX and so is faster than the 980ti. Price point for 1070 is £350.
 
They might have been smart too, because it's not the 1080 price they have to worry about but the 1070, that's the card that will influence the second hand price of the 980Ti most.
 
TX is technically faster than the ti obviously with more cores, if the 1070 beats a TX the 980ti is cannon fodder. And no I'm not talking about overclocked/high boosting cards.

On topic:

I do expect Gibbo to be getting some stock at some point and doing a sweet deal but when is anybodies guess.
 
High OC TX and 980 Ti are neck and neck, the best OCing examples of the latter overclocking further than the best of the former cancelling out the extra cores etc.
 
More than likely they will just slowly disappear from the site rather than dropping in price too much. Bound to get some price cuts but nothing major.

Agree, they'll be priced right to be near enough out of stock as the stock levels rise of the 1080/1070 etc.

I'd be tempted by TX's around £400-450 new (and pick up a few)but that's all I would pay and would only be a little tempted. Price isn't going to happen though. Noticed the EVGA SC TX now up over a grand with only 3 left in stock- think were 959 a week ago

980 Ti's I wouldnt buy new now even at £300 - no want :)
