Local Schoolboy Vandalizes Several Parked Cars

Hi All
Came home from work today to find my Golf deeply scratched across 2 doors and upon checking my CCTV i have found a local school boy caused the damage. I called 101 and local police have taken CCTV on USB. How do you proceed with such a incident as the school is 5 minutes away from me and i don't believe he should go unpunished. His Parents/Guardians should clearly be responsible for his actions and my cost of repair. I have contacted the local Councillor who i know well from residents neighbourhood watch meetings

I have clear CCTV of his actions and his face , a small screenshot (of him having a go at my car)

Wait and see how the police play it. I would imagine they'll rock up to school in a Panda car and he'll be in the head's office pretty sharpish.

As for that kid, what a mindless oik. His parents should be billed for the damage, so he at least acknowledges the consequence of his actions, I doubt that'll happen though sadly.

Not necessarily. One of our Year 11s was caught pinching wing mirror glass.
His parents grounded him for 6 months and made him pay the owner back.

Hope you get it sorted easily OP!
 
Similar(ish) thing happened on another forum not too long ago, guys car had a stone thrown at the windscreen and caused a big crack. All caught on dash cam too.
Resulted in the chap having a very big telling off from the head, being excluded for a few days and having to foot the bill.
I would contact the school and see what their response is.

good memory there :) hit and run got caught and had to admit liability from CCTV :D

I know the local Councillor and the local head of the school. So i am going to pursue this he should not get away with it from being a minor. He is clearly a menace, and it always starts small by the time he is a teen who know's what crimes he will have committed

Very interested to see what the police do about this. I'd be looking to get the parents to foot the bill for the repairs for sure.
 
Definitely get on to the school. The police where I am are pretty good and do it as a matter of course if crimes by minors are reported however doesn't hurt for you to pre-empt. You're also right when you say what could he be getting on with later.

Yes, i am still quite shocked, but i am just thinking in my head imagine if i was at home and caught him, I am not sure if i would be able to control my actions :mad:
