Well, rumours are Zen will match Skylake performance at least and they are released at the end of the year.

How quickly rumours grow! AMD recently commented that Zen would "compete" with Skylake. Now it's "match Skylake performance at least"!

Similar thing is it not?

Remember there will be years of fine tuning which if it competes with Skylake to start with it will better Skylake in the Future
Is that not obvious??

Anyway, back on topic.

These guys rule the competition in the gaming competition world so it is great they have a deal with AMD.

Do they have to use AMD cpus for gaming too....? Lol

That's what the link says. :(

So horrible when professionals lose their performance streaks due to inferior equipment, no matter what the sport. ;)

Although it's strange to see this "news" under the Hardware - Graphics Cards part of any forum, let alone a UK forum (considering it's an American/Korean professional gaming team getting sponsored by an American company!).

Do you happen to have any affiliation with AMD, EvilGeniuses or LegitReviews, Ferrari100?

Well, let me enlighten you. When new cores are launched in there first iteration, there are several afterwards that improve on performance.
;-)
Lucky for AMD then that Intel announced that Skylake will be the last ever Intel architecture and they won't be releasing no more, no sir, no-how. :p

Edit: Sorry Seanspeed!

No, But GPU's are used by Gamers. There is a clear link between the two. If you are a gamer, which I hope you are in the GPU pages, why not take a look at what those gamers have accomplished. Then, consider that all those games are played on GPU's Which beings us back to the GPU pages.

No.

Going around saying "Zen will AT LEAST match Skylake" is misleading, going to lead to disappointment over a chip that in objective terms is likely to be very good; and finally is the sign of someone who doesn't know what they're talking about.

No affiliation? OK, if you say so. It's just that someone - probably someone else entirely, who just happens to be called Ferrari100, and who has the exact same English 'style' as you (right down to "GPU's") - well, they have about £40,000 of shares in AMD.

I suppose it's entirely coincidental that a couple of your comments I read have included a few misleading statements about AMD - for example, your recent thread title about AMD achieving a 29% market share described it as a "30% MarketShare [sic]".

And in another thread just now, you linked to an article which showed how poor AMD is for Linux today, and said "If you mean regarding Linux there has been massive headway gained lately. I think AMD are ploughing a lot of cash into Linux drivers, they must be to be getting such good results and feedback." - basically the complete opposite of the article!

I just thought that maybe having ~£40,000 of shares in AMD might be pushing you to be slightly optimistic about AMD, and this in turn may be affecting your OCUK posts. That's all. :p

Wow, I am being stalked.

Says a lot.

You guys are shameless.
This is good news for AMD and you try to deface it. Shame on you all.

Shame on us? I'm actually a pretty big fan of AMD and have positive expectations of Zen and Polaris both. But if you think that over-enthusiastic assertions that Zen is going to be "match Skylake at least" are a good thing for AMD, they aren't. They lead to exaggerated expectations followed by disappointment. Plus there's just honesty to consider. I don't think AMD would even want such misinformation going around.

And it is the decent thing to do to declare any interests you have up front. It doesn't mean you're biased or wrong to have an interest, but it is the right thing to do to be open about this within reason if asked. You shouldn't blame others if an interest is unearthed.
