What is the difference between the male and female models of these shoes?

I want new air max 90's as my current ones are worn badly (after only 8 months, but I used them daily, for both regular use and running) and make my knee hurt if I use em for running now the last few weeks. The sole is completely worn in some places.

I picked ones on offer, and after ordering I noticed they were a female model. Now I cancelled em, but now I wonder, what are the differences?

The price difference is 60 bloody euro's (89 on the ones on offer, which happen to be a female model, vs 150 euros normal price). Now on the exterior, I can't really spot any differences.

Why wouldn't I go for the female model I wonder now, any disadvantages over the male models?

The female ones are cheaper because you have to buy half a whole wardrobes worth of new clothes to go with them.

Came in expecting shots of hot chicks wearing trainers.

Left, disappointed.

Size 6.5 feet? Jesus - my 9 year old has size 5.

Wish I could get UK 11 in female prices.

Probably a different shape. IIRC women's feet are generally slimmer than the average guys foot so the trainer will probably be slimmer as well. If you had more female shaped feet then they may work for you, if not then they may work out too slim.

Edit:

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/19767544/

RESULTS: Analysis showed that the heel-to-ball length (ball length) of the male participants' feet (181.5 mm) was significantly longer, on average, than that of the female participants' feet (165.0 mm). The width of the male paticipants' feet at the ball, instep, and heel regions, as well as the ball circumference, normalized by the ball length, were all significantly larger on average, than the female test participants' feet. However, toe region, instep, and medial and lateral malleoli heights were larger, on average, for the female participants than for the male. The results show that female feet differ in size and shape from male feet and are not algebraically scaled, smaller versions of male feet, as is often assumed.

So yeah, longer, slimmer and with a larger toe area and smaller heel area than a male shoe relative to length of foot.

I'm not the tallest/biggest bloke around so yeah (Polish roots eh), UK 6.5 I believe (tho it depends on model, mostly 6.5' trainers are to small , but Oxfords for example are good in that size).

Might be worth popping down to a shoe shop and trying on a pair of the female shoes at that size.

If they fit well order them.

Then you can buy the high heels you want that this question really relates to :D.

Heel space I never had problems with.
My feet aren't very long.
But I do have very wide feet, in a lot of sneakers I still have space left for (in front of) my big toe, but my little pinky toe is being crushed/needs more space. So I like a larger toe area.

I really really dislike actual shops, plus I feel guilty asking for advice/trying trainers on and not buying em/ordering em online for smaller prices, Zalando has free postage & return policy anyhow so I can order as many sizes as i want to try em on at home.

Of course, **** the system, some of you guys know me, I hate authority :).

No but in all honesty, I first worn air max when I was 14 or 15 or so, and they were the most durable and comfy trainers I worn, I have various sneakers, Adidas, Puma's, but none of them are as comfy as Air max, who are good for every day to day wear, and for a run/jog in the park, or on the threadmill in the gym.

I've had a pair of women's grey nike air (no idea what the model was), I didn't realise they were women's at the time of buying them but i liked them anyway. Size 9 and they fit exactly the same as any other Men's Nike trainers i've had over the years.
