Murf. One of the biggest (musical) mistakes I ever made was chopping my Ibanez Les Paul in part ex for my Yammie SG
The Yammie SG 200 is an awesome guitar but I really loved that Ibanez and I only got £60 for it.
It wasn't as though I was short of a bob either as I just got £10k for an industrial injury
The Yammie cost £800 in 1985 (I had to re-learn left handed because of that industrial injury)

at your hand! Major respect for re-learning with your left! I take it playing was just too important to give up?

I had to give up playing guitar after my stroke, no way I could relearn with my left. Very impressive thing to do. Reminds me of Django Reinhardt, who played awesomely despite only having 3 fingers on his right hand.

Found out that my prescription has changed so much that the optician is going to be referring me to the hospital for more detailed eye tests. I was mildly myopic and my left eye hasn't changed much at all, but apparently my right eye now has astigmatism.

Since astigmatism is a change of the eye shape, at your age yes that is quite test worthy.
Buy it in bulk, depending how the vote goes you might not get anymore polish.

That takes me back to the 70s.
You have to put your latest record in a sleeve then walk around the streets showing it off until it starts a conversation where you end up in their bedroom playing it.
