Paypal owns Twitch troll

Story aside, I don't understand this. Why are people giving other people money for just sitting in front of a camera?

it is just weird.. seems to be mostly blokes watching 'girl gamers' who become popular through a combination of being hot and showing off flesh... There was some news recently about one of them getting banned for 'accidentally' flashing her vag....

No idea, but it's the norm these days and not just for scantily dressed women.
People make insane amounts if money from playing games. Not just youtube advertising, but the amount if tips they get in live twitch is insane.

Only thing I can think if is people like there name read out.

To those who don't understand:

They're entertainers. At least, the good ones. People gravitate towards good entertainers, simple as that.

People pay to watch football, people pay to watch movies, people pay to watch tv shows, all the same, entertainment being provided. Only difference is that donating to twitch streamers is optional, but if you enjoy the stream, what's wrong with supporting the host?

I understand paying to watch football and the like, I do that myself, and I can just about grasp the idea of giving hot chicks cash for displaying their assets whilst gaming. But giving some random guy, who appears to be dossing in someone's garage, wads of cash for merely sitting in front of a camera and doing **** all is beyond baffling to me.

High likelihood that wasn't all he did on stream.

But streamers can be doing literally anything and just have a begging bowl out. Obviously the more entertaining ones, entertaining in whatever way viewers see it, get more donations.

And for reference while popular females tend to have provocative camera angles and clothing the most popular streamers are male and carry the stream with a combination of personality and game skills.

I've never understood it either, I mean if you make quality content for Youtube which actualyl has some proper production value then by all means make a buck off it but this tendency to just lob money at people for playing games is beyond me.
