Dead Rising 4 - Possibly Leaked

Two days ago we reported that Dead Rising 4 is in development at Capcom Vancouver and may, or may not, have an exclusivity deal and that Dead Rising 4 will indeed feature at this year’s E3 and will “make fans of the series happy”. Today, we can update that with images that were sent to us that might give us our first look at Dead Rising 4.

The game is rumoured to be a complete remake of the first game with co-op added as well as online functionalities. Fans of the franchise might also recognize Frank West in the first image, lending itself to the veracity of these images. As always, we’ll update this article as and when we hear more on the game.

New information has emerged that the game will come to Windows 10 PC alongside the Xbox One release as a Windows Store exclusive. Frank West will mark his return as the protagonist, but Capcom Vancouver also added a four player co-op allowing three friends to join the frantic action playing as previous characters from the game such as Chuck, Nick and Annie.

I'm not going to lie, I am really excited about this, I adore this series and it sound slike a great idea. I hope it goes back to the hardcore roots of the first game because although I enjoyed 3 it had lost some of that magic that made the first game.

I also hope this means we may get the old titles on BC.
 
I was about to roll my eyes and say "Great..." as they seemed to have got worse each one. But a remake of 1 is fantastic!
 
DR1 is my favourite game of the past 10 years, loved everything about it. I've not played the sequels (3 looked rubbish), but a remake of the first game would be awesome - I'd been hoping, with not much expectation, that it would appear on PC at some point.
 
They just need to take out the constant bloody phone ringing. It was the one thing that sucked about the original - you want to spend time playing in this awesome zombie sandbox and the guy never lets up. Otherwise it's brilliant and my favourite zombie game to date.

That's a key part of the game though.
 
I've played them all and 3 was probably my favourite! (bit too much travelling tho). Let's hope they make Frank walk a bit faster if this is remake of dead rising 1 (and less annoying save points /death points)

I'll be upset if they ditch the save rooms. That was a key aspect of actually feeling like you were in a bit of bother. Dying costs nothing if you don't lose anything.

DR1 was, despite appearances, a fully hardcore game. If they soften it up, i just know I'll end up bored.

Agreed 100%.

It was a game that on the surface looked easy, but once you started you knew **** was going down, you were severly under levelled at the start and had to make genuine choices about where you went with the time you had.
 
Tbh I'd rather just see a new game rather than a remake :o. Bet it costs £40+ too!

If I wanted to replay DR1 then sure I would. I think a "spiritual successor" /a new game in a mall would be a better idea

Either way, happy to hear we get to play more Dead Rising, big fan of the series. I actually thought 3 was great!

Apparently State of Decay 2 coming as well? Very nice.

Yep, it's in the OP, Xbox One and Windows 10. But that may well change.
 
Dayum. There was a cryptic clue that's been floating about for a few days with the line of "The weather outside is frightful" and that led many to believe MS had bought the exclusivity on a Lost Planet remaster (Let it snow...) I was genuinely quite excited for it. But meh for Dead Rising. :(
