Update your checkout system Overclockers! GTX1070 :(

I work on video games where I need quite a beefy graphics card, I could have gone with the 980/ti but it made sense to hold out for a week for the 1070 release.

to be fair, if you really earning money from this you should ALWAYS ALWAYS have a spare. even its a cheap 750TI.

if you saying your earning money from this every minute you not working is loosing you money which would not be loosing if you owned a second card even if it was a 750ti or lower..

I work freelance, I can spare a week, I am not making me not working as much as an issue as it's being made out, I am just saying it was important to get a powerful card and I was waiting for it which added to the disappointment, I am not worried about my work.

A 750ti will no suffice the requirement for my work.

And I am not saying that I earn money every minute I dont have one, where are you reading all of this from?

Not everyone can afford 2 computers or backup components even if they need a pc to earn a living!
Sounds like you need to very quickly find another way to earn a living before something simple happens like a PSU fail which could take out your whole PC....

Yeah haha, people are going completely off topic with solutions for things that hasn't even happened :/
I am not living month to month, I have enough money to replace my computer if it blow up, thats not even what is in question here...

just dont replace it using paypal if it does go Pete Tong .... ;);)

Instead of airing it here you should have posted in the CS forum.

Why not, paypal is a valid payment option that is secure, I should not be penalised for the payment method. Imagine if you just purchased something in the store and on the way back to your car, someone ran out, went into your bags and grabbed an item to give it to another customer in the store.. Thats **** man..

And what would the CS forum do? It's private, they are out of graphics cards there is nothing to be done there, at least here they can see public opinion and hopefully improve their system.

Sometimes its PayPal. Ive had instanced where payment took around 35mins to finalise. Just took it as PayPal's sytem being slow. Card payments are usually instant

Surely if that is known then the retailer should cater for that as it's out of customers control and to support paypal as a valid payment option is false if it can't successfully make a purchase?

A freelance software developer buying his work products using paypal?
Doesn't sound like it is the best business sence.

Bad luck on the order processing, was it paypal pulling funds from your bank account or from the paypal account directly?

Whats wrong with that? I get payed frequently via paypal it's a popular choice.
I also don't get why this has any relevance to the discussion really... If paypal isn't doing it's job it isn't the consumers fault, remove it as a payment option.

I have to use Paypal at OcUK for some reason (and not alone in that) trying to use my card here constantly triggers fraud protection at Visa (even after getting both my bank and OcUK involved) and I have to phone in and get the payment pushed manually or just use Paypal.

Then surely you should be talking to paypal and not overclockers,Paypal was never a option to pay and has only been brought in in the last few years,it's not there fault but paypal, speak to them.

Lets stop the moaning before the thread gets closed.

I had a problem with paypal a couple of years ago when buying from OcUK, the answer was simple, don't use paypal for anything that needs to be done quickly.

As above, I don't see how this is OCUKs fault, and surely items are only sold once payment is received. I don't see why stock should be withheld from other buyers if there are issues with someone's payment.

Not OCUK's fault but if using a certain payment method has a chance of causing delays then maybe there should be a customer information message displayed, if there isn't one already. when a customer makes a purchase using that payment method, giving them the opportunity to use another method.

What's the attraction to using paypal anyway? Do they offer cashback better than Credit Cards? I've only used it for small payments in the past or collecting payments from ebay buyers

Nothing wrong in mentioning it in here though.

Anyway, if an item of stock gets allocated to you at checkout then it should remain yours. Even if payment is going to take a little longer.
