Reminds me of the arguments about 970 vs 780Ti when the 970 came out.
Except that now, I think we can look back and easily see that the 970 has pushed ahead of it fairly convincingly whereas before it was slightly behind it.
What that tells me is that even if an overclocked 980Ti edges out an overclocked 1070 right now, this may not be the case 6-12 months from now. You also lose out on 2GB of vRAM(though that wont be a huge deal at 1080/1440p).
